Playing Little Lord Fauntleroy Like Peck's Bad Boy

Young Andy Clark is a messenger at a telegraph office. He delivers a message to a theater, where the young actor set to play a character in knee pants and long hair fails, so Andy is drafted in his place.

It's an amusing entry in "The Adventures of Andy", which seems to have been a series starring Master Clark. Most of the humor lays in Clark's playing Andy as a tough street kid, who objects to the sissified role and who also knows nothing about acting.

Although the Edison style of performance and blocking continues in this short subject, something has gone wrong. Edison used a more deliberate style that called for fewer title cards; the story was told through pantomime. Yet here, there are many title cards... which may be an artifact due to this being a Dutch print. Possibly the extra titles were added for foreign audiences.

Andy Clark appears "on the stage" as little Lord Fauntleroy and finds that he has to go up to the gallery to punish Yale Boss who, if he had known who was under the curls, would have considered first before he threw that egg. It made laughter; but was not quite so spontaneously funny as the former installment of the Andy series.
