And when the central character is a saint with a strong fame in Italy, Latin America,an incorruptible saint and spiritual mother of many families, witness of wonderful miracles and victim of hard times,ideal wife,mother and nun, it is enough for ignore the artistic value of movie in favor of his spiritual message.

a beautiful film. it is the most easy definition. maybe, the precise one. because , like each story of faith, it is just a confession. about the sacrifice and love and meaning of life and generosity. and the only detail who did the difference by many other religious films is the lead actress who not gives only the admirable image of of a Romano - Catholic popular saint but the portrait of Medieval woman. a film about a mother and her choices. about vocation and about the delicacy of miracles. beautiful. maybe touching. and useful. for discover the embroidery of emotion. for to be part of a seductive story. for admire a good script and a director who saw to explore each nuance.

I will confess that I generally find English dubbing of foreign made movies deficient. Don't know how dubbing actors are selected but they are not usually done well.( And I have purchased a lot of foreign made movies about the saints). I prefer to watch/ listen in Original language and read subtitles. I would rate this a 9 in Italian. St Rita's story is compelling as she basically lived the life of a mafia wife and eventually lost much before she gained All.
