Let me just say firstly the title of the movie was wrong. It obviously made people assume that the film was about the differences between black and white people. I would say about less than ten of the jokes, out of the film containing tens upon tens of funny lines, was about the racial differences.
It was about men learning about what women go through in life. They get to experience different people that women encounter, such as strong overpowering men, rude devious women, fashion, shopping, waxes (ouch!), etc.
But instead of making you feel like you're being lectured, they make you laugh and learn instead.
The Wayans are not making fun of white people, they're mocking people such as the Hiltons; the false life that people like them can lead; how money can hide people from reality and can lead to corruption.
On the DVD, you can see for yourself what the white actresses have to say. That they enjoyed themselves, and love the concept. Who would join a cast who were making fun of your race? If the Wayans disliked white people so much, they would've gotten black actors/actresses and put them under make-up, instead of hiring white actors/actresses in the first place. Even the director states that this film is about the differences between men and women.
Please give this film the same chance that you would give any other.
P.S. Was Mrs. Doubtfire making fun of old people?

I think that's why it got such low stars on IMDb. Why is everyone so harsh on the film? I actually laughed at most of the movie. Yes, some of it is a little over the top silly. Sometimes you need that though. I don't know. Maybe I was in one of those good moods. And I could've just liked any movie. But I did think that this was very funny. There are some typical moments in a man dressed as a woman comedy. Shawn and Marlyn do make some ugly women. But that is what made this movie so funny. I would recommend it for a silly laugh. Remember, just don't take it seriously. Come on IMDb users, HAVE A LITTLE FUN! That's what makes movies fun and enjoyable.

If you haven't seen this movie you're missing out on a classic and original comedy that ages like a fine wine.
The fact this only has 5 stars is atrocious. It's at least a solid 8 stars or at least 7, but not 5.

This is a cult classic; the critics hated it when it came out but it has a lot of staying power as a social critique and one that makes fun of everybody. It's got a few obnoxious moments and a lot of low-brow toilet humor but I really enjoyed it. The Wayans brothers are hilarious, and I think the terrible makeup that's makes them obviously very unnatural looking adds to the comedy. A lot of funny scenes, like the dinner date with Terry Crews and the girls all singing along to rap music in the car.
A good comedy movie that I think is very funny and will get plenty of laughs from viewers.

Too funny.. a cult classic that never goes out of style... obligatory to see repeatedly from time to time, because it never disappoints, and always brings a lot of laughs!!
I'm not too much of a fan of the Wayans brothers, but this time they shined, both as actors and as producers.... Terry crews is another one that does not disappoint and gives birth to an already cult character in the comedy films of the 2000s
many believe that giving too much importance and praise to this film is a mistake or sounds incoherent, since there are things that do not make sense or implausible situations that do not add up even if they happened in fiction.... but it is no less true that it entertains , and a lot to the viewer.
Very good and very funny comedy... love it.
