Originally the script of this movie was of Filmmaker Prakash Mehra. Dharmendra had the script of Zanjeer. So both of them stuck a deal and exchanged the script. Dharmendra when he got the script of Kahani Kismat, he gave it to his Godfather Arjun Hingorani to make the movie and instead Dharmendra preferred to work with Prakash Mehra in Samadhi as he found Samadhi is better than Zanjeer.
Usha Timothy refused to be credited for the song Rafta Rafta as she didn't being the song but just uttered words in it.
Dharmendra and Rekha worked together for the first time.
