    Just like a long episode.

This movie is great from the start to the finish. But I must warn that it is not for everyone. Fan of the series will definitely love it. But for those who haven't seen the series, I would suggest you watch the series, and if you do not like the series, then definitely don't watch the movie! It's just a long episode really.

The story strays away from the Naraku saga and creates a whole new evil character Hyouga. Inuyasha's father defeated Hyouga's father many years ago. Now Hyouga wants to take revenge on Inuyasha by killing him and all his friends. That's about all of the story I can give away without ruining the movie. But the story involves ALL characters!! Well, the main ones at least.

If you were moved by the intense Naraku, Kikyo saga, then you will be moved by this adventure as well. Also, the animation is alot better and the drawings are sort of different. But action sequences are done very well.

    Overall I gave this movie a 10/10.

The Best Of The 4 Movies!!!!!

A fantastic movie. I love everything about it. Hell, the animation is some of the studios best, almost Myazaki Gibli quality.

I especially love the two driving characters, Kagome and Sango. Kagome, though being the main character of the series, she's really put to the test here and I will say that this is probably one of Monica Stori's best performances in the series.

Sango's relationship with Kirara is pushed to the limit here. Its almost if Kirara is like that friend you have that is kinda mentally ill and this is sorta there violent breakdown. And Sango really trying to save her is so touching.

There is a little nitpick of wanting a bit more Kikyo in there, being she's my favorite character in the series, but who am I to complain.

Where as Sailor Moon was the anime of my childhood, this series really treated me like an adult. I love the dark tragic backstories, the love triangle, and the villains are great.

If you wanna start watching it, this is a good place to introduce new fans. One of the best outta the four and defiantly in my Top 50 Films. 10/10

Time To Kick Some Ass-Half Demon Style!

InuYasha, a story about a 15 year old who ended up being transported through time to the Fuedal Era in Japan, (sort of) befriends a Half-Demon to search for Jewel shards and joining them are a perverted monk, a small fox demon and a Demon Slayer team up as well only on the way, they have to go after a villain who goes by the name of Naraku.

That simple story has gained a lot of fans including myself around the world. To this day, the show and the manga is still popular. I mean it has various kinds of merchandise and even people dress up as the characters for various Anime conventions. Due to the popularity, there was no doubt they had to make a movie, let alone four movies.

The first in the series of movies called Affections Across Time involves our heroes going up against a new villain only this time, it's not Naraku. It's Menomaru, the son of a demon InuYasha's father killed years ago. And he doesn't intend on taking over the world, instead, well, from what I've seen, he intends on committing genocide in a very badass way believe me.

Now, first time viewers if they watch the film first, they might lost but there is a sequence where it does tell the basic story, although rather condensed but it helps. Even if you're not an Anime fan, the film has plenty to offer. It has great action, great animation, great voice acting from both the Japanese and English voice actors, funny humor, awesome violence and gore, and great music to accompany the film especially at the end credits.

    Any nitpicks? Well, barely actually.

Overall, the film gets a 10 out of 10 from me.

    Extremely great

I recommend this movie to people who have met two prequisits: Those who like anime, and for those who like Anime to watch at least the first 20 or so episodes of Inuyasha. If you've watched that many or have a good understanding of the Inuyasha storyline and characters, then watch the movie too. I felt that this movie was BETTER than the series itself and was not just like a long episode. Rather, it was more of an in-depth description of the characters.

If I had to give a score, up to 100, 1 being a being a home video with the cover still on and a broken microphone, 100 being something that you will watch over and over again for eternity, I'd give it:

    89/100

I give it less than 90 because the 2nd movie was better than this one.

    plot behind the movie

Kagome Higurashi is like any other 15 year old student. Like any other, until she discovers that she can travel through time via the Bone Eater's well...

Not unlike the series, Toki Wo Koeru Omoi takes place in Feudal Japan with a bit of Present day mixed in. Unlike the series, the first of currently three movies strays from the Naraku plot and into another enemy.

Enter Menomaru. A demon who's father, Hyoga, was sealed beneath the Tree of Ages by Inu-yasha's father 200 years past. He fools Inu-yasha into attacking the claw which sealed away Hyoga's power, thus destroying it and releasing Hyoga's power. His power takes the form of a great orb. Menomaru allows himself to be engulfed into it, thus absorbing the power of his father.

Collecting the souls of every living thing, Menomaru's power grows to immense size and soon, he becomes reborn with near limitless power as the New Hyoga.(Side note: During all this, Sango and Mirkou are fighting battles against Menomaru's servants, Ruri and Hari, who both are slain)

While this passes, Kikyo sends Kagome to her own time, as she was not meant to be there. Kagome and Inu-yasha somehow manage to contact each other, although 500 years apart. Inu-yasha gets Kagome to come back to Feudal Japan.

With the help of Kagome's arrow, Inu-yasha's Backlash Wave hits Hyoga, killing him and earning them a Shikon shard.

Overall, this is very much like what happens in the series, but with larger detail. One detail I didn't enjoy was the 3D effect on the Tree of Ages. It takes away from the overall picture. But, in a grand total, I give this movie a 9.5/10(1/2 point for 3D)

The US DVD includes an Inu-Yasha no Tsubo special as an extra. The Inu-Yasha no Tsubo segments typically run after episodes that air in Japan as a commericial break eyecatch. This special, however, introduces the lead characters and storylines of Inu-Yasha.

Sessshomaru should have his sword Tokijin. Inuyasha didn't learn the backlash wave until AFTER this sword was made.

Kagome Higurashi: [Kagome is stuck on her side of the well, while Inuyasha is injured on his side. She touches the God Tree. Thinking] I can feel him. I can feel Inuyasha

      Inuyasha: Kagome? Is that you?

Kagome Higurashi: [gasps] Inuyasha? How are you? Are you okay?

Inuyasha: Don't worry. This is nothing. I'm kinda surprised your not here.

      Kagome Higurashi: I came back.

      Inuyasha: Got scared, did ya?

      Kagome Higurashi: No! I just...

[remembers that it was her who shot Inuyasha]

      Inuyasha: You what?

Kagome Higurashi: [shakes her head] Never mind. You're right. Maybe I ran away.

Inuyasha: [laughs] Stupid. You never change.

Kagome Higurashi: What do you mean 'stupid'?

[Inuyasha suddenly appears, slumped at the bottom of the God Tree where Kagome left him]

      Kagome Higurashi: Inuyasha!

Inuyasha: [looks up and sees her] Hey, you are here Kagome. So, what have you been worrying about?

Kagome Higurashi: I just feel so worthless. I even ended up hurting you Inuyasha. I thought you'd be better off without me around.

Inuyasha: Would you stop going on like that?

[gets to his feet, then staggers]

      Kagome Higurashi: Inuyasha!

[she runs to him and keeps him from falling]

Kagome Higurashi: Don't move, you'll open your wounds.

Inuyasha: [he grips her arms, then pulls her forward against his chest, hugging her] I need you with me Kagome. Haven't you realized that yet?

Kagome Higurashi: [hides her face in his shoulder] Thank you.

[Suddenly, she is alone in her own time again]

      Kagome Higurashi: Inuyasha?

      Inuyasha: Come on back Kagome.

[She runs to the well house, past her Grandpa and Sota, who are praying for the snow to stop]

Grandpa Higurashi: Great spirit of the sky, stop the snow from falling.
