Why do these films get made?

Okay, I feel I must praise those who have given this film the bad rap it deserves! For starters, I remember getting invited to a special screening for, lets say, six bucks or so. I was expecting to see a wretched pile of bull, but I got something worse than that! I was so sure that having a few union actors such as Savini would give a little depth, or something enjoyable. NOPE! This film was the most pathetic concoction ever put onto film. Loust script, horrid acting, lame effects, and a whole lot of unreal violence that was just stupid to begin with. John Waters' "Pink Flamingos" looks like an early Spielberg classic in comparison, and thats a bad thing. I never had a problem with the Waters exercise in 'poor taste', because there was a message about it, this film, was just stupid. I cannot be more specific than that. Just stupid.

Now, it began out with an extremely unbelievable sex scene with Tom Savini and Brinke Stevens. Stevens then retreats to her radio office to conduct a question and answering about zombies. We then see the worst acting of a man and his son hunting zombies, and a tiger is involved...er something. Anyway, a community is under attack with a bunch of idiots running around getting killed one by one. The lead cops are sick and sleazy, and achieve sexual kicks by forcing young males to make love. It is just stupid I tell you! They don't give a crap about civilians. I can understand a filmmakers need to be self-expressive, but there are limits to which art become ridiculous and repetitive. The rest of the story has a lot of bad acting, cheap vomit effects, dreadful dialog, and the STUPIDEST climax to be seen by anyone, be it whoever. My finale plea, is that the filmmakers of this movie need to be banned from writing, directing, or any other type of process in the industry. I thought I was going to see some film that would at least be on its way to a real film-festival...alas, this film was NOTHING! My advice would be to make sure NO ONE ever see's this film again. Then the world would be a better place.

I just have to ask...why do these films get made? They're just so dumb, and offer nothing. If someone actually likes them, then they need help!

    Hell yeah!

I didn't think I'd like this movie at all. There's not many things that I do like. But it's awesome. Lloyd Kaufman's appearance not only makes this film worth while, but it makes life itself worth while. I mean, if you don't like this movie- you're a brown-nosed, wannabe Roger Ebert. It's fast, it's funny and it certainly doesn't lack in the violence satisfaction department like you would expect from "just another straight-to-video horror film." See this movie or die. It premiered here in Tulsa, Oklahoma (yeah, I think that's weird, too.) But, DO NOT PAY FOR DUMB MOVIES LIKE CHARLIE'S ANGELS 2 and TERMINATOR 3. BUY THIS MOVIE NO MATTER WHAT IT COSTS. I saw it once and I'm already hoping to see it againt.

Another interesting thing... the actors in this movie- like Savini, Stevens, Rose, and Estevez... You may laugh and think they're crap actors, but in this movie, they actually get a chance to show off what they're really made of. The guy who directed this loves these kind of movies and didn't make this film only to become a Hollywood sellout in the future. FUN FUN FUN!!!!

    What was this?

First fo all, I am a huge Zombie fan. I read that this one was shot in Kansas, and almost got it confused with the far superior Zombie Bloodbath 3: Zombie Armageddon, also shot in the Kansas area. I am sure these film-makers knew they were stealing the title as Zombie Armageddon was made three years before this film, maybe four. So I was a bit confused at first, thinking it may be a simply retitle of a film I already had.

I was wrong. This one is a zero budget effort with some good make-up and a few good ideas that somehow goes horribly wrong. Ari Bavel I see was also in this film. He was in Zombie Armageddon too!!! Now I KNOW the people behind this film knew of the other film. Nothing like a rip off. But again, I wanted to give it a chance. I still have no idea what I watched. No plot really. Some bad cops do bad things and zombies show up. There's a few seconds of OK gore and tones of Cameos by B-Movie vets. I sent an e-mail to Ed Neal asking WHY and he said he was suckered. I have no idea what that means but it's a waste. For some reason Tom Savini shows up for 3 seconds to play Jesus!! Again, no idea what it's about and all the horror Cameos in the world does not make up for the fact that it smells like bad fish - el stinko. Maybe they should have used more energy on a script or making a film rather than driving back and forth to an airport and paying for all the Cameos. Just not a good film, it has long stretches of dull talking and bad composition and lighting. I urge more people to take longer on the script. It really does make a difference. And never bore an audience.

It opens with the worst director that is allowed a budget to work with in my memory, Uwe Boll (House Of The Dead) telling us how bad this movie stinks. Nice intro. And if anyone should know, Uwe should know.

    Like Zombies only funnier!!

I have to say when a name like Zombiegeddon and an atom bomb on the front cover I was expecting a flat out chop-socky fung-ku, but what I got instead was a comedy. So, it wasn't quite was I was expecting, but I really liked it anyway! The best scene ever was the main cop dude pulling those kids over and pulling a Bad Lieutenant on them!! I was laughing my ass off. I mean, the cops were just so bad! And when I say bad, I mean The Shield Vic Macky bad. But unlike that show I was laughing when they shot people and smoked dope.

Felissa Rose...man, oh man. What can you say about that hottie. She was great and put those other actresses to shame. She should work more often!!!!! I also really liked the fight scene outside of the building. That was done really well. Lots of fighting and people getting their heads banged up. FUN! Last, but not least Joe Estevez and William Smith were great as the...well, I wasn't sure what they were, but they seemed to be having fun and throwing out lines. I mean, some of it didn't make sense with the rest of the flick, but who cares when you're laughing so hard! All in all the film wasn't the greatest thing since sliced bread, but I wasn't expecting that. It was a Troma flick so I figured it would totally suck. It's nice when something surprises you but not totally sucking.

Rent it if you want to get stoned on a Friday night and laugh with your buddies. Don't rent it if you are an uptight weenie or want a zombie movie with lots of flesh eating.

P.S. Uwe Boil was a nice touch.

An overall cheap and flimsy genre effort for better or worse

Arriving at a local radio station, a radio show host decides to recount a story about how a zombie apocalypse was averted when the creatures appeared from the depths of Hell to overthrow the planet and how they relied on a pair of corrupt cops and several other survivors to stop them.

This was a wholly cheesy low-budget genre effort. One of the finer features of this one is the way the endless array of seemingly unrelated skits slowly form a coherent storyline about the zombies arriving and taking over. As the interactions of the corrupt officers going through the neighborhood, the zombies appearing at the school, and the various neighbors who seem to interact either with more zombies or each other before it becomes obvious these seemingly random skits form a story about the creatures coming to take over the world. These confrontations provide a generally fun series of cheesy, low-budget-fueled schlocky zombie encounters featuring flimsy gore and outright silly concepts that substitute common sense and logic for energy and enthusiasm that builds throughout here into an original take on the zombie curse affecting everyone which is all decent enough to give this some enjoyable elements. All that aside, there are some issues with this one. The biggest one is the seemingly obvious low budget where just about everything from the production value, the guerilla shooting locations, and the effects on display all scream cheap, low-budget cheese. It all borders on being intolerable due to the type of presentation it provides, especially for those who don't enjoy this kind of genre fare. As well, there's also the big issue with the film in that the randomized nature of the structure prevents the film from making sense, as the general approach only comes about later on since the internal logic of so many scenes is maddeningly frustrating. Characters become zombies seemingly for no reason, the way they behave is immensely inconsistent, and everything has the kind of improv type of performance so it all comes off even cheaper and cheesier than anything else. It all comes together to lower this one overall.
