In the family of hospital intern Martine, calm has returned. Anne gives birth to a baby girl. Catherine finally reconciles with her mother and considers the birth a happy event. She also takes a growing interest in Marc, a young lawyer who had been courting Martine and who works in the law firm of her father-in-law, Maître René Mercier. As for Martine, she now works in Professor Lemoine's department. She assists him in treating, among other patients, the President of the French Supreme Court.
