Astitva became a big hit in both Hindi and Marathi language.
Madhuri Dixit was the original choice to play the part of Tabu.
Tabu had said in an interview that she was only the non Maharashtrian actress in the film and it was a bit difficult for her to dub in Marathi version.
Along with Madhuri Dixit, Shefali Shah, Padmini Kholapure, Sonali Kulkarni were all approached for the lead role.
The film was also released in Marathi on the same day.
