I feel that this film rock for ages. It has now become a cult classic in Marathi. I recommended this film to my non Marathi friends. And Now they all fell in love with it. Sachin you have given us the best Indian comedy film ever.
Laxmikant Berde and Sachin perform a drag queen comedy drama to the fullest. Their presence along with Ashok Saraf, Sushant Re, Nivedita Saraf, Ashwini Bhawe, Priya Arun is just priceless.
I yet have to see a comedy as hilarious as this one in other films.
Ashok Saraf, Laxmikant Berde & Sachin guys rock. Waiting for a sequel or a remake at least.
An ardent Ashihi Banwabanwi Fan. Vinit.

The first time I saw this movie was when I was 10 years old and recently caught it on amazon prime. I think I enjoyed it more than I did before. Even my husband who cannot understand marathi and read subtitles appreciated it. Wow what a superb script, direction, starcast, music and choregraphy !! Everything is just perfect.

Every time this movie airs on TV ...entire family watches it even though we have watched it multiple times. Movie was released when I was 2 years old...when I grew up and saw it first time on TV, it became my favorite comedy movie since then.
Whenever there is a mention of this movie in while gossiping with friends, big smile appears on face and automatically a scene from movie appears in front of eyes( Laxmikant knocking door- "Dhananjay Mane itech rahtat ka?")

A remake of a Hrishikesh Mukherjee film from 1966, this film's rating is probably the highest I have seen for any Indian film (Funny thing I am not even sure if any Kurosowa or Hitchcock film even touches this threshold or not).
Story of 4 guys who are looking for rented accommodation after being thrown out of one, they act out as 2 married couples instead. Add in romantic interests and the plot continues. But the laughs are few and far between. The acting is decent and songs come in to derail the plot as usual.
I am not a native Marathi speaker, so that might have been the reason for some jokes falling flat even with subtitles. But I have seen many French, Russian and Japanese films and language wasn't a barrier in those cases; so I don't process that logic as a major stumbling block in this case either.
Anyways, it's not a bad film per se, but with this rating, one would go in with Great Expectations that the film can't suitably process.

This is bestest movie I have ever seen. From my childhood to till now, this movie has been there for me in every happy, sad situation. I have seen this so many times but every time it cracks me up. The cast is so perfect that while watching you think you are one of them. And, the innocent comedy is the core of this movie.
