Billy West and Oliver Hardy are rivals for the hand of Ethelyn Gibson. When she agrees to marry West, Hardy and his thugs steal his pants.
That's a fairly amusing sequence as West tries to get a pair of pants while avoiding the cops and Hardy. West had begun as the best of the many Chaplin imitators. By the middle of the 1920s, all that was left of the old act was the mustache, and West was revealed as a good comic technician and performer. Hardy, who had served as his heavy, often in makeup as Eric Campbell, was now clearly himself, waiting for his hookup with Stan Laurel to make movie history. The result here is a good comedy short.
