This film is OK Like all the other reviews even I think that this film should have been made in the 70s or 80s
The film has Anil Kapoor's noble family taking charge of the village and making almost every decision It does look kind of weird as it's like their family is butting into the decision of every other family in the village
There is also a side story which eventually goes into the main story and that is Shakti Kapoor who plays the villain of the film
Direction is outdated Music isn't very interesting
Anil Kapoor doesn't suit the old role but is passable in the young role Rekha is brilliant Raveena Tandon is interesting in the first half Harish is bad Paresh Rawal is funny Sadashiv Ampurkar is good Shakti Kapoor is purely evil as the villain

Very good movie , many times i'm watching this movie but not boaring, i'm solute the director, writer and actors.very sensetive movie and not Overacting like latest present times movies
The film released at the start of 2000 alongwith MELA both disasters So sad to start a millennium with such nonsense
The film seems to suit 70's but looks like an unintentional comedy for 2000
Anywayz some classic gems from the film: Paresh Rawal I don't understand to laugh at his role or cry Reason: He goes searching his mother in the village worst part is when he realises a secret of Anil he keeps the secret in his stomach which becomes big and makes him look pregnant I remember in my childhood my teacher told me the same joke Urrf!!!! as a child i laughed at it that time but here?
The whole film is a joke can't explain We have Anil in a dual role(One older and younger) and Rekha playing the older's wife and Raveena the youngers We also have reject Harish while Shakti playing the son of Aruna Irani who both fight on who has the worst wig
Direction is outdated Music is bad
Anil tries hard looks too old in the younger role and too young in the older role yet good effort Rekha is adequate, Raveena too is okay Harish is bad Shakti Kapoor is terrible Aruna Irani is as usual Rajnikant is okay in a cameo

The film is about the clash between modern India, and the old values, and thee styles are well portrayed.
The film is good when Rekha, and Raveena Tandon or acting.
As for the rest, what can be said? It is an Anil Kapoor film, featuring Anil Kapoor with masses of dancing, and stunts.
The low part, for me is when the introduce a rapper into the plot.
I can't complain, the film is what I have come to expect from Anil Kapoor films, I only watched because it has Rekha, Raveena Tandon, and Aruna Irani in.
If you enjoy a musical, this is your fare, if you are expecting a film, avoid Anil Kapoor movies.

- CuriosidadesWhen questioned why Anil Kapoor did such a horrible film he stated "My love and admiration of Rajnikant. I really wanted to act opposite him. He is such an amazing actor, so humble with no hang-ups. The funny thing was the competition between Rekha and Raveena Tandon to outdo each other looks wise, while I was going for authenticity. So there they were looking like a million bucks and I, who had had my clothes stitched by a village tailor, stood there looking like their mundu! I do have fond memories of the movie though."
