Why isn't more tv like this?

It doesn't seem to be a very expensive way of producing interesting material, with its simple, but effective, style of putting people in front of the camera and into the audience's living rooms. So why is there not more of it?

Surely it's obvious that , with the right research, there's room in the market for a whole series of these to be made.

Come on commissioning editors...throw some money at the producers and get them to make us some more.

An any-length filler, as involving as "Castaway 2000", at a fraction of the cost. How can they resist?

I came across a video of this programme recently. Though in parts it is an extremely moving tribute to the politics of english youth in the closing years of the twentieth century I found it a little one sided.

Over 90 minutes numerous young commentators (about thirty in all) are each given sixty seconds to describe what various words (sex, pollution, death, royalty) mean to them whilst images of "britishness" play behind them. Their comments tend to be restrained and slightly moany, as if being camera shy. The slighty sloppy chromakey effect begins to offput after a while as if the whole thing was done on the cheap and then given an uncalled-for post production polish and sometimes I found myself concentrating on the lesser important background images.

Full marks, however, go to the skinny guy with glasses who seems to comment on all of the subjects. He's hilarious! Who is he? Why hasnt he got his own TV show?

Less moaning. More humour in future please.

Bought this film from a web-site after watching the rest of Ray Bradys films. It is genreless and very odd but extremely enjoyable (kind of like the rest of his work). I recommend it. Mediative, calming and insightful, a truly original piece, if a bit Art-house.
