London, 1835. At the end of a memorable meeting of the Pickwick Club, Samuel Pickwick, retired businessman and Sunday philosopher, decides to launch an expedition to discover the surroundings of London, in order to alert his contemporaries on the dangers of travel. The naivety of our intrepid explorers could well play tricks on them .

Thanks to the innkeeper's lies, seductive Truman, without conquests, is having dinner with Rachel. But the irruption of Major Slammer comes to disturb the head to head. Winckel, a rather smart young man, and Snodgrass, a poet without verses, are part of the adventure.

As the game of hide and seek fails to turn into a drama for Pickwick, Tupman and Rachel get closer in secret.

Rachel, duped by Jingle, flees with him, much to Tupman's dismay. Warden and Pickwick set off in pursuit of the fugitives.

While Pickwick wants to announce to Madame Bardell that he has hired a valet, the latter is mistaken, and believes that he wants to marry her. Problems continue when he discovers a farewell letter from Tupman.

Pickwick, still determined to stop Jingle in his misdeeds, hatches a plan to confuse him at the boarding school for young girls. At the same time, Madame Bardell wants to sue Pickwick, accusing him of having broken his promise of marriage.

Sam, revenge, tries to find the trace of Alfred Jingle and his valet. Pickwick, meanwhile, must face the accusations of Mrs. Bardell. Convinced of his innocence, he refuses to hire a lawyer.

Pickwick refuses to pay Madame Bardell the damages demanded by justice. While waiting for a possible imprisonment, he sets out again in search of Jingle, accompanied by Sam his valet, and by Winckle, very little motivated.

Winckle discovers by chance that Arabella is kidnapped. He goes to find her. Miss Winterfield does not see her fiance returning, and files a murder complaint.

Faced with the mayor, Pickwick and Winckle will have to exonerate themselves. They offer a confrontation with Jingle, in order to prove that he is an impostor and a con artist.

At Fleet Prison, to his surprise Pickwick finds Alfred Jingle. The latter seems to be in bad shape. The devoted Sam is determined to get his master out of his dungeon.

Winckle married Arabella. Pickwick is the ambassador to convince the two families to accept this union. Jingle released from prison thanks to Pickwick, before he leaves, he wants to render a service to his savior.
