When Will Fantastic Four: First Steps Be on Disney Plus?
Image
The Fantastic Four: First Steps has finally brought Marvel’s First Family to the big screen in style, delivering a retro-futuristic adventure that’s equal parts family drama and cosmic spectacle.

Directed by Matt Shakman and starring Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing, the film skips the tired origin story to dive straight into the team’s established heroics.

But with theaters still buzzing from its July 25, 2025, release, fans are already wondering: when can we kick back at home and stream this MCU entry on Disney Plus?...

The Fantastic Four: First Steps Worldwide Box Office: Surpasses Venom: The Last Dance ( Photo Credit – Instagram )

The Fantastic Four: First Steps is on track to hit the $500 million milestone this weekend. However, it achieved an interesting feat this weekend by beating Venom: The Last Dance and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania worldwide. It is doing well at the domestic box office as well, but things would have been different if it had such a hold at the box office in the initial weeks. Keep scrolling for more.

The MCU movie is nearing the end of its theatrical run. It is connected to Avengers: Doomsday, and we also saw Doctor Doom in the post-credit scene.

5 Actresses Who Could Replace Margot Robbie As Harley Quinn In James Gunn's DC Universe
Image
We may receive a commission on purchases made from links.

The DC Extended Universe (Rip) was a mixed bag at the best of times, but one character it got right was Harley Quinn, as played by Margot Robbie.

Robbie's Harley appeared in three films: "Suicide Squad," "Birds of Prey," and "The Suicide Squad" directed by James Gunn, who is now head honcho of DC Studios. "The Suicide Squad" is more or less canon to Gunn's new DC Universe, so should fans expect Robbie's Harley to return in the same way that John Cena's Peacemaker or Viola Davis' Amanda Waller has?

"That will be revealed down the line," said...

Julia Garner’s Weapons Aims High: Can It Outshine Fantastic Four’s $468M Worldwide Box Office (Photo Credit – Instagram/YouTube)

Julia Garner has showcased her range with acclaimed performances in Ozark and Inventing Anna. This year marks a milestone in her career as she headlined three major theatrical releases — Wolf Man, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and the horror thriller Weapons, directed by Zach Cregger.

Among the three, Marvel’s Fantastic Four stands tall with massive box office numbers, while Weapons has already crossed the $100 million mark worldwide and continues to grow. The big question now is whether Garner’s chilling horror flick can eventually surpass the superhero blockbuster’s remarkable success.

Ioan Gruffudd
Ioan Gruffudd on the Fantastic Four Sequel That Vanished
Ioan Gruffudd
In remarks relayed by The Wrap from his recent Vulture interview, actor Ioan Gruffudd said the studio decision to halt a third Fantastic Four film was “beyond my control,” ending plans for a trilogy he once expected to finish after 2007’s Rise of the Silver Surfer. He recalled that studio conversations pivoted around a three-picture arc after both earlier installments crossed the $300 million worldwide mark.

“The momentum was there,” he added, praising movement artist Doug Jones’ portrayal of the Silver Surfer while noting that ultimate approval rested with executives. Mixed reviews for the sequel and leadership changes at 20th Century Fox soon pushed the 2009 target off the calendar, leaving cast and crew in limbo.

Fan archivists later highlighted reduced profit projections, unresolved character-rights issues and early talk of a franchise reset as key factors behind the cancellation. Those conversations intensified after Disney acquired Fox in 2019, transferring the property to Marvel Studios...

'Fantastic Four' Actor Speaks Out on Silver Surfer Controversy [Exclusive]
Image
Doug Jones might be one of the most recognizable actors you’ve never recognized. At FanX's Tampa Bay Comic-Con, in Tampa, Florida, the beloved creature performer sat down with Collider’s Maggie Lovitt to reflect on his time as the Silver Surfer in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, being dubbed over in multiple roles, and the documentary about his career, aptly titled Get Me Doug Jones. Looking back on his superhero stint in the early 2000s — before the Marvel Studios machine reshaped the genre — Jones was gleeful about stepping into the world of comics.

“Are you kidding me? I mean, I had been in Batman Returns years before that, like back in the early ‘90s,” he said. “Something about the comic book genre that makes you kind of go, yeah. Because, you know, when you flip through comic books as a kid, and now you're in the movie of that thing,...

Gruffudd Details Lost Third Fantastic Four Film
Ioan Gruffudd
Ioan Gruffudd says the original Fantastic Four cast expected to complete a trilogy, but the studio halted plans for a 2009 installment “beyond my control.” During a recent Vulture interview the Welsh actor recalled that momentum felt strong after Rise of the Silver Surfer, adding he “loved working with Doug Jones” as the cosmic herald.

Industry chatter at the time pointed to internal budget worries and a desire to pivot toward risk-free brands once Silver Surfer posted a steeper second-week drop than its 2005 predecessor. Fox ultimately logged about $289-302 million worldwide on the sequel versus $333 million for the first film, a margin analysts called “respectable yet unremarkable” for a superhero property already facing stiffer competition.

Gruffudd told fans the cancellation stung because contracts had been structured for three pictures. His remarks echo prior comments from director Tim Story that early outlines toyed with villains such as Puppet Master and Mole Man...

Original ‘Fantastic Four’ Star Ioan Gruffudd Says the ‘Plan Was to Do Three Movies’ but Studio Cut Franchise Short: ‘Decisions Beyond My Control’
Image
Long before Pedro Pascal stretched his limbs as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic in “Fantastic Four: The First Steps,” it was Ioan Gruffudd who led Marvel’s first family in 2005’s “Fantastic Four” and 2007’s “Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.” The films were critical duds and only mild box office hits (each grossed more than $300 million worldwide). In a new interview with Vulture, Gruffudd looked back at his original “Fantastic Four” franchise being cut short.

“The mindset was that we were going to do three, and I think the second movie was equally successful as the first and equally enjoyable for the fans,” Gruffudd said. “I particularly loved working with Doug Jones [as the Silver Surfer] on that movie, who’s just a terrific artist and an expert in the field of movement. If you want to witness somebody bringing a character to life physically, he’s just untouchable. So there was definitely that sort of momentum,...

Avengers: Doomsday Could Wipe Out Three Of Fantastic Four's Best Characters
Image
The good thing about parting ways with Reed Richards (Pedro Pascal) and company in "The Fantastic Four: First Steps" is that we won't have to wait long until we're reunited with them. Next year, Marvel's First Family will be teaming up with Earth's Mightiest Heroes, and even a few X-Men, in "Avengers: Doomsday" for some reality-shaking comic book movie action. It's just a shame that they'll likely be leaving some key characters behind.

We don't want to call it too early, but we stumbled into the middle of a kidnapping in the mid-credits scene of "The Fantastic Four: First Steps," with Victor von Doom seemingly on the cusp of snatching Franklin Richards from the Baxter Building before heading off into another reality. Naturally, Sue (Vanessa Kirby) and her superhero family will be on his trail, leaving Earth-828 behind.

Now, while it'll certainly be exciting to see the Fantastic Four chewing...

'Fantastic Four' Star Julia Garner Says Netflix's Madonna Biopic Is Still Happening
Image
Julia Garner has given a positive update on the status of the Madonna biopic, which many thought was canceled. 2025 has been an incredible year for Garner, marked by starring roles in Wolf Man, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and the upcoming horror thriller Weapons. In 2022, Garner was cast as the musical icon Madonna in a biopic about the singer's life that was speculated to be canceled. Garner, though, says the movie is still in active development.

Speaking with the Smartless podcast ( via Variety), Garner said the Madonna biopic is "supposed to still happen" and that "anything that’s great…takes a long time." Garner went on to talk about her passion for the project, as she grew up with Madonna's music. But what drove her was a desire to test herself. "I kind of just wanted to see if I could do it, because I wasn’t a trained dancer...

The Fantastic Four: Matt Shakman Explains Why A Director's Cut Is Simply "Not Possible"
Image
Prior to the release of The Fantastic Four: First Steps, director Matt Shakman revealed that John Malkovich's villainous Red Ghost would no longer appear, and when audiences saw the movie for themselves, it became clear that this was far from the only scene that didn't make the cut.

There are a number of shots from the various trailers and TV spots that didn't appear in the finished film, including more of the team in space, Johnny Storm falling back to Earth after confronting the Silver Surfer, and what looked like a pretty intense conversation between Reed Richards and Sue Storm.

This is not exactly unusual, of course, but even though First Steps has been mostly very well-received, one consistent criticism from fans and critics has been that the last act feels a little rushed, with pacing issues resulting from the movie being trimmed in order to keep its runtime under 2 hours.

Fantastic Four Reboot Rockets to £6.1 M No. 1 Launch in U.K.–Ireland
Matthew Wood, Pedro Pascal, Ralph Ineson, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Julia Garner, Vanessa Kirby, and Joseph Quinn in Quarteto Fantástico: Primeiros Passos (2025)
Marvel’s The Fantastic Four: First Steps opened atop the U.K. and Ireland chart with an estimated £6.1 million across 665 cinemas, out‑grossing every previous Fantastic Four launch by roughly £2 million and securing the region’s strongest superhero debut since Superman earlier this month. Data from industry tracker Comscore show the film claimed 54 percent of weekend market share, while holdovers Superman and Jurassic World Rebirth trailed at £1.3 million and £1 million respectively.

The robust start follows a $118 million domestic bow in North America and $218 million worldwide, giving Disney its first nine‑figure opening of 2025. Analysts note that First Steps’ global launch ran within two million dollars of Superman’s rollout, easing worries about “super‑hero fatigue” after softer results for Thunderbolts earlier this year.

According to Screen International, preview takings of £2.05 million on Thursday boosted momentum in the U.K., where premium formats delivered 38 percent of ticket revenue. Audience polls skewed...

Fantastic Four: First Steps’ Hidden Tribute to Jack Kirby’s Wife: Natasha Lyonne Romance With Ebon Moss-Bachrach’s MCU Hero
Image
Spoiler Alert !!!The Fantastic Four: First Steps Spoilers Ahead!

The Fantastic Four: First Steps won your heart over, sure, but did you know it also paid a hidden tribute to comic book artist legend Jack Kirby’s wife? Surprisingly enough, that’s only true, and the homage appears to have come through Natasha Lyonne’s character and Ben Grimm/The Thing’s love interest in the movie, Rachel Rozman.

As a fan, @foeyeahboi took to X to explain, Rozman could have been named after Kirby’s wife, whose name was Rosalind “Roz” Goldstein. As for the character herself, she is likely inspired by Debbie Green. Green is a Jewish school teacher from Ben’s old grade school, whom he not only dated but almost married in the comics as well.

for those wondering about natasha lyonne's character in fantastic four, rachel rozman: she's likely inspired by debbie green,...

4 Reasons Why ‘Fantastic Four’ Ended Marvel’s Box Office Slump
Image
“The Fantastic Four: First Steps” achieved a truly heroic feat over the weekend, snapping an unprecedented cold streak for Marvel Studios.

The comic book adventure, starring Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Joseph Quinn as the titular quartet, lifted off to $118 million domestically and $218 million globally — the year’s first Marvel movie to open above $100 million. “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” appears to be the studio’s first successful attempt in post-pandemic times to launch a new superhero team following previous strikeouts such as this May’s “Thunderbolts*,” 2023’s “The Marvels” and 2021’s “Eternals.”

Marvel, which has been wildly inconsistent after spending a decade as Hollywood’s most reliable hitmaker, used to thrive on the unfamiliar. Iron Man, Thor and the Guardians of the Galaxy weren’t A-list characters until producer Kevin Feige began to assemble a cinematic universe in the early aughts. But since the Covid, the studio...

Top 10 Strongest Heralds of Galactus, Ranked
Image
Of the many villains and archetypal enemies that heroes frequently fight off, an entity like Galactus continues to remain one of the most feared, menacing, and all-powerful beings in the entire Marvel Universe.

However, it is not the Devourer of Worlds himself, but his cosmically empowered “assistants” that helped vanquish countless worlds, destroy billions of lives, and cause the extinction of innumerable species. As fearsome as Galactus may be, it is his Heralds who are a more present and tangible threat across the universe.

Among the innumerable candidates who have become the Heralds of Galactus, here are the top 10, ranked according to power:

The Sentinel of the Spaceways was first introduced in Fantastic Four #48. Born as Norrin Radd in the utopian world of Zenn-La, the most iconic Herald of Galactus also remains his strongest yet to date.

A Fantastic Four Marketing Gimmick Was Ruled Illegal By The United States Government
Image
While there have certainly been plenty of bad comic book movies, no other franchise has had worse luck than the Fantastic Four. Pixar's "The Incredibles" was often considered the best adaptation of Marvel's first family because every attempt to make them big screen stars was met with less-than-stellar reception. It appears that Marvel Studios, in its effort to revive its momentum, might have done the impossible, giving Mr. Fantastic, Sue Storm, the Human Torch, and the Thing the movie they've always deserved with "The Fantastic Four: First Steps." /Film's Witney Seibold praised the refreshingly hopeful team dynamic in his glowing review. The positive critical reception must come as a huge relief for fans of the Jack Kirby/Stan Lee-created comic book series, especially after one wave of big screen disappointment after another.

1994's "The Fantastic Four" may have had the worst luck of them all, with the cast...

Pedro Pascal’s Ethnicity Affects Fantastic Four: First Steps Box-Office While Superman Struggles
Image
Since its premiere only a day ago, Pedro Pascal‘s The Fantastic Four: First Steps has shown great promise at the box office. Its opening day earnings, which tipped off at $57 million, are a few short inches ahead of Superman‘s $56.1 million (numbers reported by Deadline). But those numbers alone can neither safeguard Marvel’s Phase 6 saga nor guarantee its future performance.

With the conservative crowds growing increasingly hostile toward the entertainment industry, their forensic interpretation of race, ethnicity, gender, and s*xual orientation in modern movies and television shows has been affecting the overall box office collection by tanking a film in reviews even before it gets a chance to prove itself to the audience.

In the case of Marvel’s latest Fantastic Four, however, the statistics say otherwise.

Doug Jones Backs Julia Garner’s Silver Surfer: “It’s a Different Take”
Image
The Silver Surfer is finally back in theaters. But fans expecting the familiar silver-skinned alien, Norrin Radd, are in for a surprise. The new Marvel movie The Fantastic Four: First Steps introduces a very different version of the cosmic character, and it’s getting a lot of attention.

This fresh reboot of Marvel’s First Family comes with a brand-new cast. Pedro Pascal plays Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby takes on the role of Sue Storm, Joseph Quinn is Johnny Storm, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach plays Ben Grimm. For the first time in a movie, we also get to see Franklin Richards, the superpowered baby of the group.

But that’s not all. The film also brings back two major cosmic forces from Marvel Comics, Galactus, the planet-eating giant, and his silver-skinned herald, the Silver Surfer. This time, though, things are different. The Silver Surfer isn’t Norrin Radd. Instead, it’s Shalla-Bal,...

The Fantastic Four: First Steps Recap, Ending Explained And The Post-Credits Scene
Image
2025 gave comic-book fans the summer of superheroes they have been waiting for for a long time. The very first superhero returned to theaters with Dcu’s foundation stone, Superman, whereas Marvel’s first super-family made their debut in the MCU with The Fantastic Four: First Steps in order to execute a much-needed course correction for the franchise. Coincidentally, both the movies adhere to the back to basics method through classic representation of the characters, unencumbered by the baggage of larger world-building. First Steps takes the titular family away from the MCU’s mind-numbing multiversal shenanigans and puts them in a world that embraces charming Silver Age retro-futuristic visuals.

But does that mean First Steps really turned out to be the panacea to the fast-spreading rot that is crippling the MCU from within? Not really; despite having solid chemistry among the leads and visuals that seems taken out of the cosmic epics of the comic panels,...

Marvel Studios may not have a panel at the San Diego Comic-Con this year, but they do have a movie that has made its way out into theatres just in time for Comic-Con weekend: The Fantastic Four: First Steps! We’ve seen the early reactions and we know what JoBlo’s own Chris Bumbray thought of the movie (you can read his 8/10 review Here) – and now we want to know, what did you think of The Fantastic Four: First Steps?

There have been several attempts to bring the Fantastic Four to the screen over the years, to varying levels of success. Roger Corman produced a low budget adaptation of the comic book back in 1994, but it was never officially released. Tim Story directed two big budget Fantastic Four movies that were released by 20th Century Fox, Fantastic Four (2005) and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007). In 2015, Fox gave the...

The star, who is known for critically acclaimed performances in Ozark and Inventing Anna, has been married to Mark Foster since 2019. They seemed to have a happy married life, with them supporting each other every step of the way.

Garner was confirmed for the role of Shalla-Bal last April. It was earlier revealed that her role would be 100% motion capture creation. As per early reviews, Garner’s CGI looks fantastic in the film. The actress also spoke excitedly about her appearance in the film.

During the LA premiere of the film, she told ExtraTV, “I was in total disbelief. I mean, they made me look way cooler than I actually am.” Her career prospects look promising with each project, and the same can be said about Foster, who is a singer.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps Runtime and Rotten Tomatoes Score Compared to Previous Versions, Ranked
Image
After chasing the elusive, once-upon-a-time success of the MCU for the past 6 years, Kevin Feige ultimately found it with Marvel’s first family. The franchise has now hit the golden pot at the end of the rainbow with The Fantastic Four: First Steps, which takes a step back from the current timeline to travel back to the retrofuturistic past of the 1960s.

Meanwhile, Pedro Pascal and Vanessa Kirby‘s blockbuster success comes at the tail end of a long, rocky, and often backbreaking odyssey at 20th Century Fox with the Fantastic Four property. Despite the studio’s unrelenting attempt to reboot the franchise, F4 has always managed to bomb at the box office, each time somehow worse than the last.

Below is a list of every Fantastic Four movie ever made, ranked in order of their runtime, from shortest to longest.

MCU Galactus & Silver Surfer Actors Address Their Practical Vs CGI Costumes In The Fantastic Four: First Steps
Image
The Fantastic Four: First Steps will introduce the Silver Surfer and Galactus in the MCU, and the respective actors for each role have shared their experiences working with their CGI and practical costumes on set. The processes obviously worked, as the duo has received widespread praise for their character designs and portrayal.

In fact, The Fantastic Four: First Steps is a smash hit with critics already, a small group of whom were able to see an early screening of the film. Praise is generally lavished on the main cast for The Fantastic Four: First Steps, but the Silver Surfer and Galactus have also earned their fair share of appreciation.

It should come as a welcome response to Ralph Ineson and Julia Garner, who portray Galactus and the Silver Surfer, respectively, and shared with ScreenRant's Ash Crossan what it was like donning their outfits for the movie. Thankfully, their overall experience was positive,...

Sacha Baron Cohen’s Pumped Transformation From Borat To Marvel’s Mephisto: Photos
Image
Exclusive: Marvel chief Kevin Feige said in a press gathering this week that Sacha Baron Cohen’s Mephisto character will be prominent as the next MCU supervillain. For his part, Baron Cohen transformed his physique as evidenced by the cover of Men’s Fitness UK. Baron Cohen has plunged himself into character creations like Borat, Ali G and Bruno, but the work he put into his body with Alfonso “The Angry Trainer” Moretti indicates playing a shredded Mephisto is more than a one-off for the actor.

Compared to Borat’s rather hairy visage in the lime green singlet, Baron Cohen’s transformed physique is buff, and well, bald. The changes he made through hard and consistent training, coupled with a diet high in fiber and protein and low in sugar, are startling. Maybe not quite as startling as when Deadline unveiled Jake Gyllenhaal’s washboard abs transformation to play the boxer in 2015’s Southpaw,...

‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ Rotten Tomatoes Score Opens Just a Few Steps Behind 'Superman'
Image
With Marvel Studios lifting the review embargo for Fantastic Four: First Steps a few days ahead of the film’s release, reactions have been hitting the internet faster than a Johnny Storm fireball. And now, as more critics weigh in, it looks like the reboot has found its footing — even if the landing isn’t entirely flawless. At the time of writing, First Steps holds an 87% on Rotten Tomatoes, putting it just a few paces behindSuperman's initial 89% score — however, it's worth noting that the Dcu film has now settled at 83% after its second weekend in theaters. While not universally adored, the film is leaning positive, with a healthy majority of critics praising director Matt Shakman’s bold, stylish reintroduction of Marvel’s First Family. But as is tradition with superhero flicks, not everything works for everyone.

Most critics seem impressed by the film’s retro-futuristic, 1960s-inspired setting, which gives First...

Kevin Feige Addresses Adapting Galactus For The Fantastic Four: First Steps After His Disappointing Debut In Rise Of The Silver Surfer
Image
Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige explains why the McU's Galactus had to be comic accurate in The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Galactus made his live-action debut eighteen years before Matt Shakman's The Fantastic Four: First Steps. In Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, a cloud-shaped Galactus tried to consume Earth before the titular team and the Silver Surfer defeated it.

At The Fantastic Four: First Steps' roundtablewhere ScreenRant's Ash Crossan was present, Marvel Studios CEO Kevin Feige explained how much Ralph Ineson's Galactus differs from Fox's version of the villain. Feige argues that audiences and studios are no longer afraid of embracing the source material, and he compares Galactus' extravagant appearance to Loki's horns, which were risky to adapt to live-action back in 2011's Thor. Read Feige's full comments below:

A '90s Silver Surfer TV Series Did Thanos Far Better Than The MCU
Image
Thanos' role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has transformed the once little-known supervillain into an icon of supreme evil among superhero fans. After first appearing as a shadowy figure in a post-credits scene at the end of "The Avengers," Thanos went on to play a small role in "Guardians of the Galaxy" and then emerged as the ultimate villain of the McU's Infinity Saga in "Avengers: Infinity War" and "Avengers: Endgame." The McU's depiction of the Mad Titan focused on his quest to gather the Infinity Stones, giving him the power to erase half of all life in the universe.

"Infinity War" and "Endgame" took inspiration from "The Infinity Gauntlet," the comic book storyline that also saw Thanos achieve supreme power through his acquisition of the Infinity Stones. Beyond Thanos' use of the stones to wipe out half of all living things, though, there was little connection between the source material and the movies.

‘Fantastic Four: First Steps’ Fawned Over by Fans, Film Press: ‘Return to Form for the MCU’
Image
Early reactions to “Fantastic Four: First Steps” were unbendingly ecstatic, a firestorm of praise for rock-solid performances and no visible VFX flaws. In a word, they were fantastic. Finally?

First-wave social media reviews are highly curated affairs, with secret screenings populated by studio-picked reviewers and journalists whose history of positivity earns them a seat. But Saturday’s onslaught of fawning contained heaps of heartfelt hyperbole – and none of the usual tells that are sometimes coded into the language of disappointed genre fans (no one wrote “It was fun” … exclamation point).

Instead, the July 25 release earned descriptors like “masterpiece,” “magical” and “one of the best things Marvel has ever made.” Quite a feat for director Matt Shakman’s attempt at a “Fantastic Four” film, the first three of which were … “fun!” Right?

Fourth time’s the charm, perhaps.

Take a look at some of the early reactions below – it’s a Thing:

#FantasticFour Is a masterpiece.

Image
It’s still some time before The Fantastic Four: First Steps hits the screens worldwide, but the early screening reviews are already getting everyone’s hopes pretty high up. While the entire cast is being praised for their solid performance, Vanessa Kirby, in particular, is seemingly nailing the bar and expectations.

The actress, who plays Susan ‘Sue’ Storm, aka the Invisible Woman, in the movie, has pretty much joined the same league as Florence Pugh and Elizabeth Olsen. As per @FilmUpdates on X, Kirby as Sue is being compared to the likes of Pugh’s Yelena Belova and Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff in terms of her iconic rendition.

Social media reactions are finally here for The Fantastic Four: First Steps, with critics giving their first thoughts on the Marvel Cinematic Universe installment. After years of development, Marvel’s First Family is finally set to make their debut in the MCU timeline this summer with The Fantastic Four: First Steps.

While The Fantastic Four: First Steps will be the film to start Phase 6 of The Multiverse Saga, it will mark the final MCU film for Marvel Studios’ 2025 run. However, with the reboot setting up crucial elements for Avengers: Doomsday, it will be Marvel Studios’ most important film for the year.

‘Fantastic Four: First Steps’ Pre-Sales Beat Other 2025 Marvel Movies but Still Behind ‘Superman’
Image
Marvel Studios’ Fantastic Four: First Steps is expected to be Disney’s last big summer movie, with the film tracking for an opening weekend of around $100 to $110 million when it arrives in U.S. theaters on July 25, according to industry sources.

While some say Disney has been worried about the film’s performance, the early numbers suggest things are going well so far. Presales have already reached $13 million as of Monday, putting the movie ahead of this year’s Thunderbolts* and Captain America: Brave New World. However, First Steps is still about 20% behind Warner Bros.’ Superman, which opened to $125 million.

This time, expectations are higher for the Fantastic Four compared to the last attempt back in 2015, which flopped badly. That version, directed by Josh Trank, opened with just $25.6 million and finished with $56.1 million in the U.S. and about $167.9 million worldwide. Fans are hoping for better now that Marvel Studios...

Summer Box Office Opening Forecasts For ‘Fantastic Four’, ‘Weapons’, ‘Freakier Friday’ & More
Image
The U.S./Canada summer box office still has a shot at hitting $4 billion, per Comscore, which would be the second time post-pandemic to cross that benchmark, and here’s how it’s expected to go down.

Disney is expected to ring in the last $100M+ opener of the season — from the first weekend of May through Labor Day — with Marvel Studios’ Fantastic Four: First Steps, which tracking has comfortably between $100M-$110M on July 25. I kept hearing “Oh, Disney is nervous,” but the stats look good: With $13M presales as of Monday, Fantastic Four is pacing ahead of the presales for Thunderbolts ($74.3M) and Captain America: Brave New World ($88.8M 3-day) and 20% behind Superman ($125M).

Higher expectations already have been set for this latest rendition with MCU Boss Kevin Feige’s fingerprints as well as WandaVision helmer Matt Shakman versus the 2015 Josh Trank-directed crash-and-burn reboot, which opened to...

‘Fantastic Four: First Steps’ New Character Images Reveal Stunning Galactus Armor and Confirm Iconic Villain’s Appearance
Image
New images for Fantastic Four: First Steps have revealed exciting details about some of the film’s key characters, including Galactus and a classic villain. Ralph Ineson plays Galactus, and fans will be happy to know his armor looks just like it does in the comics.

Via Marvel Studios / USA Today

The size of Galactus is also mostly comic-accurate, though it’s tricky to pin down exactly since the character can change size at will in the comics. Still, viewers can expect him to be huge.

The trailers have given fans glimpses of Galactus’ massive form, showing parts like his boots and the back of his helmet. Director Matt Shakman shared, “It’s a big moment when the Fantastic Four get to see him for the first time, and I’d love for that to be the same for the audience.” Ralph Ineson admitted that the anticipation is thrilling but also a bit scary,...

New ‘Fantastic Four: First Steps’ Character Reveal Shows Stunning Galactus Armor and Confirm Iconic Villain Appearance
Image
Fresh images from the upcoming Marvel movie Fantastic Four: First Steps have dropped, giving fans a closer look at some of the most exciting characters, especially Galactus. Ralph Ineson plays Galactus, and from what we’ve seen, his armor is very close to how it looks in the comics.

We already knew from earlier reveals that Galactus would be huge, and now these images confirm he’s mostly comic-accurate in size. Though, as director Matt Shakman points out, “comic-accurate” is tricky because Galactus can change his size at will in the comics. Still, fans can expect a giant cosmic force.

In some trailers, fans caught glimpses of Galactus’ boots and the back of his helmeted head. His massive chest alone shows how impressive this character will be on screen. Shakman says, “It’s a big moment when the Fantastic Four get to see him for the first time,...

Pedro Pascal's Mister Fantastic Will Lead The Avengers in 'Doomsday,' 'First Steps' Director Confirms
Image
With the old team now disbanded following the events of Avengers: Endgame, and many of the original crew either retired or dead, one of the big questions floating over the upcoming sequel, Avengers: Doomsday, is “who will lead the titular superhero team?” Well, we now have the answer. And it somehow presents even more questions.

Speaking with Variety, the director behind this month’s MCU outing The Fantastic Four: First Steps, Matt Shakman, revealed that Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards, a.k.a. Mister Fantastic will take charge of The Avengers in Doomsday. While explaining why Reed was the most challenging role to cast, Shakman revealed...
