This series is a perfect illustration of why adults wouldn't (and won't) admit that they are wrestling fans. The show takes these one-dimensional characters, who in some cases don't even RESEMBLE their wrestling personas (Andre the Giant is portrayed as a bumbling idiot, for example) and drop them in the same moronic situations as every other 80's cartoon. (i.e., meeting a remote jungle tribe) And to top it all off, they couldn't even get WRESTLER'S THEMSELVES to voice the characters!! Hulk Hogan found time to record the live segments, but even Gene Okerlund was too busy to supply his own voice? Come on!! Thank God Vince McMahon has never gotten the idea to redo this disaster.
I remember watching the cartoon as a kid but not actually retaining a lot about it. I know that Hulk Hogan had his group of good guy wrestling buddies, and then there was a rival group always causing trouble. It was back when a lot of kids idolized Hulk Hogan, thus the cartoon series. You also had all the classic wrestlers in it and while I never watched a lot of the more recent WWF/WWE series, I can say that none of those guys will be memorable as the ones from back in the day.
I remember liking it a lot, especially the cool theme song with the rock piano in the beginning. I haven't seen it since it was canceled years ago but it'd be fun to watch an episode again.

To quote an old saying from a famous man "Anything can happen in the World Wrestling Federation".
Well even outside the World Wrestling Federation a cartoon can be made with many of it's famous WWF Superstars.
The series follow the adventures of many WWF Superstars who were places into two groups, The Good Wrestlers leaded by Hulk Hogan and the bad Wrestlers lead by Rowdy Roddy Pipper.
However despite the show features animation WWF Superstars none of the wrestlers did the voice over for the characters only did short live action skits for the show.
The wrestlers were voiced by professional voice actors.D.I.C. did the animation for the show.
Some of the episodes were interesting some not so much it did feature an good theme song and the intro show Hulk Hogan live action then the cartoon take itself.
So over all Hulk Hogan's Rock 'n' Wrestling had to be one of the most interesting shows of the 1980s so if you're a fan of the 80s and The WWF you might want to give it a try.

Growing up as a little kid in the 80's I was into pro wrestling watching it on TV, and it's impact on pop culture grew with action figures. And you guessed it they took it to kids with this "CBS" Saturday morning cartoon "Rock 'n' Wrestling". It was colorful and in animation with stories and adventures of real life "WWF" wrestlers. Featuring fan favorite Hulk Hogan was a treat for little hulk want to be's. The conflict with the wrestling bad guys like Pipper and Shiek was fun as trouble was found like in most cartoons and the theme song was a catch as this series really was a draw to young ones to be bigger "WWF" fans. Overall classic memorable series.
Simple. They take some pop culture icons, and make an animated show out of them. This is the worst show I ever watched in my childhood. It weirded me out, it confused the heck out of me. I had nightmares from that. Hi. Welcome to "Matthew Rants". Today, this stupid show given by CBS. This show came on after MUPPET BABIES. I'd rather see ANIMALS ANIAMLS ANIMALS, or THE CHARLIE BROWN AND SNOOPY SHOW, than this junk. The voices don't sound like the real wrestlers. Brad Garret of 2 STUPID DOGS and EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND as the voice of Hulk Hogan. And Charlie Adler of COW AND CHICKEN, and TINY TOON ADVENTURES as the voice of Rowdy Rodney Piper. I had nightmares from this show. Don't get me started. That was one of the bad shows of the 80's. American IDOL, is bad and boring. THE GRIM ADVENTURES OF BILLY AND MANDY is bad. Billy is stupider than Patrick and has an I.Q. lower than Cosmo. Watch THE GRIM ADVENTURES OF BILLY AND MANDY, and you will loose 5 brain cells. Watch HULK HOGAN's ROCK AND WRESTLING, and you'll get nightmares. Don't worry. I'll see if I can get me DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS comment up.

- CuriosidadesDespite the characters and subject matter, wrestling itself was hardly ever featured or even referenced. It was simply a plot device to determine the heroes from the villains. It was therefore appropriate that Hogan be the leader of the good guys. As he was long considered the epitome of good in wrestling. Roddy Piper was equally justified in being the leader of the bad guys. As he was often, even to this day, considered the greatest villain in professional wrestling history.
