Lipservice

This film is simply marvellous!!! Its runs for only a short amount of time but is full of laughs. The real beauty of this film is that most people in Ireland would be able to understand the Irish being spoken in it, there is very few Irish films around in which most of the population would be able to understand. But the Irish in this film is relatively simple. This film is also real, almost everyone in Ireland has sat through an oral Irish exam(including myself), some of the characters replies in this film sound hilarious but are actually pretty realistic. Certainly one of the better Irish language films around, anything that get teenagers to enjoy the Irish language must be special!!!

This is a funny, caustic look at the Irish language oral exams in an inner city Dublin secondary school. The exasperation of the examiner (Sean McGinley) is palpable as he is faced with student after student with little if any knowledge or interest in Irish. The students' hilarious attempts to pass are the highlight of this short film.
