A Different Image

This is not a "film" per se. It's more like a high school project by kids that just learned how to operate a video camera. This is all about agenda not a script to entertain audience.

Margòt Saxton-Federella and Adisa Anderson are friends. They try to build a relationship with each other, even as they try to redefine themselves as individuals.

At fifty-one minutes, it's a very short feature. It does, nonetheless, have a great deal to say about the problems of young adults who are trying to -- pardon me for the ugly phrase -- find themselves while fighting off conflicting images of how they should behave: the sexualized images of women found in copies of Playboy and liquor ads, the offerings of a vaguely and multiply defined "Afrlica", and the sort of idiotic advice he gets from his buddies. Unlike a lot of movies, the characters spend a lot of time thinking and looking. This forces the audience into the same mode, with the occasional revelation a surprise.
