Salim-Sulaiman are the famed sibling composer team, who have spawned some of Bollywood's iconic hits and are today two of the industry's most prolific music directors.

The sons of composer Sadruddin Merchant, a veteran of the Telugu film industry in South India, their prize pedigree in music is indubitable. After cornering the jingles market, Bollywood came to them, with director Sanjay Gupta enlisting the young talents to score the music for the 1997 Kajol and Saif Ali Khan starrer Hameshaa.

They went on to create timeless hits for countless films including Madhur Bhandarker's Fashion and Shah Rukh Khan's Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi as well as producing albums for the likes of Adnan Sami, Voodoo Rapper, Style Bhai and Shweta Shetty.

With their reputation for musicianship, they have also both been enlisted as judges on TV music shows, with Salim invited to take on the coveted role as a judge...

Beginning with Hamesha in 1997, the great musical duo of Salim and Sulaiman Merchant have given Bollywood’s actors and actresses, and of course, fans some of the greatest music heard and danced to in Hindi Cinema. They are the gentlemen behind incredible soundtracks such as Aaja Nachle and Chak De! India in 2007, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and Fashion for 2008, Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year and Kurbaan in 2009, Band Baaja Baaraat (2010), Ladies vs Ricky Bahl and Love Breakups Zindagi for 2011 and so far in 2012 Jodi Breakers with more to come. Phew! The mind boggles with how many great songs are on those Ost’s and how many tracks of theirs I have added to my all time favorite song playlists. Besides composing, the brothers have embarked on a world tour. They just finished up a hit Us tour and now are getting ready to thrill and entertain UK audiences on July 14th and 15th.

In 2009, they were awarded the “Best Dressed Music Directors”. This is just one factor which almost instantly sets them apart from the collection of talent we have touched on so far. More recently, the pair recorded the anthem 'Waka Waka (This time for Africa)' for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in collaboration with South African singers and sung by Shakira. They performed the anthem live at the opening ceremony of the tournament and it was well-received worldwide. Yes, they are none other than Salim and Sulaiman Merchant.

The cast and crew working on remake of Hollywood’s Stepmom are hard at work putting the finishing touches on the production.

The film’s title is yet to be decided. Arjun Rampal, the main actor opposite Kajol and Kareena Kapoor tweeted: “Think of other titles for Step mom, forget the ones sent, the winner I will take for dinner and the private screening. Lol”

Director, Siddharth Malhotra often tweets about his fondness of Kajol. After wrapping up a shoot with the actress and the children in the film, he wrote: “…can’t thank enough for their contribution.” He also tweeted: “kajol is the nicest actor/human being one can ever work with or meet, very fortunate to have her in my film and life as a friend !”

Trying to engage the fans in choosing the film title, Karan Johar who is producing the remake tweeted: “Hey...our shortlist for Stepmom title options.

A few days ago, Karan had tweeted, "Hey all...any title suggestions for our official Stepmom adaptation film. Hindi titles preferably. Will be grateful forever if any of u can help." Needless to say there were quite a few creative minds who started tweeting various title options and four such titles seem to have caught the fancy of KJo and his team.
