Mickey Noades owes snooker player Brindley a lot of money and hasn't got it; unfortunately Brindley's heavies have caught up with him. Luckily his girlfriend's Liverpudlian brother is visiting and challenges Brindley to a game.

Mickey gets Mo his first private paying snooker match but he needs cash up front to buy a place. Tina has a new freezer being delivered and she won't miss it for a day while he pawns it for the readies or will she?

Another big money game and Micky wants Mo sober and sharp for the match. All is well until Nancy takes a shine to him - at the suggestion of the club owner and match organiser.

Taffy and his wife run a snooker hall. Taffy has a plan to use Mickey and Mo to pull a fast one on his wife and her admirer during a private paying match. But there is more than one trick being pulled and are they just the fall guys?

Mo is lined up for a big game with a professional player making a comeback and out of the blue his ex girlfriend from Liverpool appears. But all is not as it seems and she isn't alone.

Mickey is running out of time to pay his debt to Brindley and sets up a game with some old friends of Bobby Weeks down on their luck after their snooker hall was bombed. Desperate for the money he pushes his friends and acquaintances to the brink.

Mickey and Mo's working relationship is in a bad place and a rival manager appears on the scene intent on pushing Mickey off to the side. Mickey has his own problems when Brindley decides he wants Mickey's help with something and isn't going to take "No" for an answer.

Mickey's money troubles haven't stopped, Tina's patience with him has run out and Wilson brothers have decided they want to collect Brindley's debt on his behalf while he's in prison. Mo receives an offer from a rival manager and the Wilson brothers prove they can't be trusted to deliver a car somewhere.
