A return to screens of the successful sitcom The Rag Trade (1961) after 12 years, this time in colour. The original main stars Miriam Karlin and Peter Jones reprised their roles. The original 1961-63 series had been a nursery for up-coming stars such as Barbara Windsor and Sheila Hancock.
Features Anna Karen reprising her famous role as Olive from On the Buses. She regularly mentions her husband in anecdotes but the link is never really explored.
The series was remade as Fredrikssons Fabrikk in Norway in 1990. The cast featured Norwegian and Swedish actors and ran for 3 seasons from 1990 to 1993 and a feature film, Fredrikssons Fabrikk: The Movie in 1994.
The writers Chesney and Wolfe, also wrote Wild, Wild Women, Meet the Wife and On the Buses. Wild, Wild Women was a period variation of The Rag Trade starring Barbara Windsor.
