Continuity

After Douglas Hall returns from his first trip into the system, Whitney examines and queries him while wearing a stethoscope around his neck. After a cut near the end of the conversation he is suddenly wearing it in his ears.
Tom Jones's cigarette jumps from his left hand to his right hand when he says, "Like the singer."
When Hall returns to his normal world he has blood dripping from his nose and in his top and bottom lip. After the scene cuts the blood in his lips is gone.
The number on the sign for the grocery store checkout line flips from the correct 4 when facing the clerk, to 5 when facing Douglas.

Factual errors

In the first scene of the film, Fuller writes the letter with a fountain pen. This is clear in the close-up where the "feed" is visible under the nib. It also has a cap. The pen is dipped into a desk inkwell. Fountain pens are never dipped into an inkwell. It is set down in a grove on the desk set, which would be a correct action for a dip pen, which it was not.
In the 1930s depicted in the film, Wilshire blvd was a dirt rode in the western part with no tram unlike in the film.
June 21, 2024 is dated as Monday on newspaper in final scene. Actually it is Friday. Also headline is a bad guess.

Incorrectly regarded as goofs

When Douglas is in the 1930 reality and in the pool of the hotel he grabs the revolver and he can be seen to check if it is cocked, which it already is. Then he places the barrel in the bartender's mouth and threatens to shoot him. It's believed that when the bartender pushes the barrel of the revolver out of his mouth and Douglas pushes it back in that he is re-cocking the already-cocked gun. However, if you watch after the bartender pushes the gun from his mouth, Douglas moves the hammer of the gun back into place (because he believes he's going to get his answer from the bartender). This makes re-cocking the gun necessary when the bartender doesn't answer after all.

Revealing mistakes

In the opening sequence when Fuller enters the restaurant and is asked if he wants his favourite table, he spends a long time consulting his wrist watch (to see when his download time is up?) but he can't see his watch as it is hidden below the starched cuff of his shirt.

Miscellaneous

The computer's voice declares "120 minutes" for the timer in one scene, but "2 hours" in another, even though the display reads "2:00:00" both times.
Natsha Molinaro Gretchen Molis described by the detective as being from Austin, Texas, yet her accent is clearly not from Texas, nor even midwestern. In fact, she is from Connecticut.

Anachronisms

When Douglas asks Grierson (Hanlon Fuller) about having flashbacks, Grierson references being in World War I. Since the program is set in the 1930s, prior to the second World War, Grierson wouldn't refer to the previous war as World War I. Before World War II, World War I had other names, most famously "The Great War." While it is a computer program, and knowledge doesn't necessarily operate the same way as in the "real world," there's no logical reason for characters to be programmed with that term, and Hanlon, as the designer, would know the proper terminology for the time since he actually lived during the 1930s.
Around the 26-minute mark, Douglas Hall/John Ferguson, during his first trip to the 1930s, goes to the bathroom to wash his hands, and the faucet has modern aerators (first invented in the 1940s by a German inventor named Wilhelm W. Maurer).
When pulled over by the police, the officer's car was using a gumball light which was not introduced until 1948.

Plot holes

When Detective McBain learns that Jane Fuller is an alias and that she is not Hannon's daughter, this would have made Douglas's alibi for Hannon's death suspect and McBain should have rearrested him but he doesn't.
