3 Passos Para o Paraíso

Britain in 1995, suffering the aftermath of Mrs Thatcher, was not a healthy place and this film revels in some of the sordidness in its politics, media, cities, sex, crime and drugs. There's also an overlooked item: love.

Suzanne loved Sean, a rent boy and dealer, and when he is dumped by the river, into which he falls and drowns, she gets a gun and sets out to eliminate the three people who left him to die.

Not as ambitious as the five men hunted down in Truffaut's 1968 "La Mariée était en noir ", here the avenging angel also uses pseudonyms and disguises to gain the confidence of her victims before they are dispatched. And, this being fiction, she suffers no consequences.

This is a nicely-done TV movie - typical of Channel 4 from those days. Good acting, decent-enough plot and with some nice humorous asides in the script (which, played straight, might be a little dark). I'm not sure what led to its being available on BFI Player, but well worth catching while it's there. Recommended.

It's not the worlds best movie or anything, but it's fun. Fun characters and good acting, fun plot. It's simple and great to just sit back and enjoy. Nothing world breaking but I really do recommend it if you want a fun little movie about uncovering secrets and all.

3 Steps is a hunt for who did it. When this London girl's boyfriend is found dead in the river, she's trying to track down who did it. Dig through some promiscuity and socialite fluff and she finds her answer. Not much to it.
