Female Chauvinists

I saw this movie twice within weeks of each other in Miami in 1976. The movie was edited to deal with the dichotomy of X and XXX theaters in the mid-70s. Miami was a fairly open town when it came to adult bookstores, adult theaters and adult drive ins. There was a XXX drive in, The Thunderbrid, in Ft. Lauderdale. And The Biscayne Adult Drive In in North Miami, which only showed softcore flicks. I saw the softie version first and it was patently obvious that the movie had been edited to remove the h/c naughty bits. Roxanne Brewer and Uschi Digard were well known at the time for only appearing in softcore films. So two weeks after I saw the edited version, Female Chauvinists opened at a porno theater in downtown Miami. Roxanne and Uschi's roles were virtually the same, with only a bit of beaver action and some minor touching of female pudendas. But Pryor's ex-wife Debbie McGuire did a full blown (pun intended) scene and there were a few other XXX scenes interspersed throughout the movie. Interestingly, the actress listed as Svetlana, who appears in a bikini in the movie, went on to become a multi-film director.

Finally Roxanne Brewer gets a starring role in a film. All I can say is "it's about time". If only Roxy made more X-rated movies a la Russ Meyer or Uschi's many simulated sex epics, she could have been a huge porno star like Uschi, Candy Samples and Marsha Jordan. Another big bust model who would've made it big in simulated sex films would have been Roberta Pedon. But be that as it may, thankfully we do have this film along with a few others that Roxy made that are available for viewing. As it happens, Uschi and Candy Samples are both in this film too as well as one of Richard Pryor's ex-wives, Deborah McGuire who also made a few like=minded features (and even showed up in a Russ Meyer film too). This film delivers the goods in spades and is a great send-up of the woman's liberation movement.

FEMALE CHAUVINISTS, aka HOT CONNECTIONS, is another low budget sex flick featuring some famous faces in support, including Richard Pryor's former wife Debbie McGuire and Russ Meyer starlet Uschi Digard. The plot involves Roxanne Bewer being sent undercover into a feminist camp in order to bust it wide open, but the sexual content comes from a male ally who also joins the camp pretending to be a deaf-mute to keep him from being killed by the women. The film has two versions, a tame softcore version lasting an hour and a longer hard version, and both offer little more than bad acting and copious nudity.

Big busty models of the past Uschi Digard, Candy Samples and Roxanne Brewer show their ample wares. The movie starts off with Roxanne and her boyfriend hard at it, when their flatmate turns up. They plan for Roxanne to join an all Girls against Males sect, where most of the girls are big and busty. The highlight of the film is Roxanne riding a horse topless chasing her Boyfriend who also infiltrates the sect as a mute gardener. So you see the scene poor acting, plenty of laughs and plenty of big busty topless action. Other than doing some adult loops, Roxanne also did a few other cheap "D" Grade movies but this is far and away her best feature.
