Remake of Hollywood film The Fugitive starring Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones. The Fugitive was based on Dr. Sam Sheppard who was accused of murdering his wife, Marilyn Sheppard on July 4,1954. Years later when he was proven innocent he remarried. and was trained by his new father in law George Strickland to be a professional wrestler. He debuted in August 1969 with the name "Killer Sam Sheppard". He wrestled around 40 matches. His matches drew massive crowds due to his notoriety over the murder trial.
Legendary actor Ajit's final movie.
The film was a bilingual, shot in Hindi and Telugu as well.
Released on the same day as Hulchul (Ajay Devgan, Kajol) and Aatank Hi Aatank (Aamir Khan, Juhi Chawla). Ironically, in the UK and Europe, all three films were released by the same distributor.
When the film released Mukesh Bhatt released huge ads in leading newspapers saying "Manisha Koirala is Dead". This was done to promote the film but people thought it was cheap and in bad taste to run a ad of that nature.
