The film cast includes one Oscar winner: Whoopi Goldberg; and two Oscar nominees: Glenn Close and David Strathairn.
Both this film and In the Gloaming (1996) were nominated for the CableAce Award for best Dramatic or Theatrical Special on the same year. This film eventually won the award.
