This movie doesn't have any proper story to tell. A rich girl gets attracted to a taxi driver leaving all her comfort and easy money? In real life, this can never happen. In the movie, the leads fall in love, marry, fight and unite. The plot is as old as hills. Comedy is garbage and action is over the top.
Only positive point of the movie is the chartbusters and timeless music from Nadeem Shravan and lyrics from Sameer. The movie created hype and succeeded because of music only.
Amir khan and Karishma Kapoor got Filmfare best actors awards which again proves the credibility of Filmfare awards. Also, the same Amir khan got angry when he didn't get award for Rangeela but didn't say anything against Filmfare when he got it for this crap movie.
Dharmesh Darshan hasn't given any good movie in his career. Dhadkan also worked because of music only.
Overall, this is a crap movie that can be ignored. Songs can be watched or heard again and again though. My entire rating is for the songs only. Nothing else deserves any rating

This has got to be one of the greatest Indian movies you will ever see. Yes, some of the acting is over the top, the first 15 minutes of the film drag before the story kicks in and sure, some points are laboured for Western audiences. However, petty criticisms aside, I keep coming back to this flick year after year as my all time favourite Hindi language film (after Khuda Gawah perhaps). Karishma Kapoor in particular is a real treat to watch - beautiful and intelligent, and above all a very talented and convincing actress. I am genuinely curious that such a breathtakingly gorgeous lady did not make an effort to enter Hollywood or the English language movies at all. Perhaps the most outstanding feature of the movie is the fantastic music. Catchy and hypnotic to the point where you cannot really ever forget the main motifs and themes. I can guarantee that even if you don't like the film that much the song & dance numbers will either enchant or entrance. You will never in your lifetime forget the gypsy dance number. Forget the art house stuff and enjoy pure Bollywood at its best.
Raja Hindustani is one of the best film that Aamir Khan has played in. The film offers very good music, acting and good chemistry. The film has good plot but that could be better and some of the scene needs to be improved. I liked Uddit Narayan's voice on the film (well done for that). The film is like old 80s - 90s romance film. And the film was some good jokes filled in.
But the film is worth of while with Aaamir Kahn and Karisma Kapoor chemistry. would recommend it to watch it once.

One thing that lingers about this movie is the music, which is innately Indian and the melody is reminiscent of the yester-year Music Makers. Aamir khan who is one of the better actors and Karishma who is easy on the eyes unlike her sister, also happens to be a good actress. There is the usual cast of "Appetisers-side dishes" including Johhny lever, who has better talent doing Bhangra than comedy. This actor has talent with mimicry and impersonation but is a annoying comedian. The Story is a typical Bollywood, where the girl meets a poor boy whose habitation almost always happens to be tourist spot that good looking Rich girls happen to visit. They are invariably are snobbish or the Script writers make them that way till the 23rd reel of the movie to make way for the musical numbers-which just happens to be pure treat.
A classic Bollywood film from 1996 that's still a fan favorite today. This movie features Aamir Khan and Karisma Kapoor in lead roles, and their on-screen chemistry is electric.
The story follows Raja, a charming yet rough-around-the-edges taxi driver, who falls head over heels for the sophisticated and wealthy Aarti. Their romance faces hurdles due to class differences and family pressures, but let's be real-the emotional rollercoaster is what keeps you glued to the screen. The music is fantastic, with catchy tracks like Pehla Nasha that you'll find yourself humming long after the credits roll. Aamir completely nails the role of the lovable underdog, while Karisma brings a certain grace that balances his energy perfectly.
But the movie is not without its' flaws, like the predictable plot and overly nonsensical storyline. Some scenes also feel a bit stretched. It's not a perfect movie, but it has an undeniable charm.

- CuriosidadesAamir Khan initially turned down the film but was heavily persuaded by director Dharmesh Darshan to sign on. Dharmesh told Aamir that the film had huge commercial potential. Eventually, Aamir agreed with the idea that the film could be very successful and then later signed on. Darshan was right about the commercial promise, as the film became the biggest box office hit of 1996 in India. Karisma's makeover was so good and her performance so powerful that everyone called it 'Rani Hindustani' after it was released and this upset Aamir.
