Paramount+ has officially announced the return of Landman for its second season, with the neo-western oil drama slated to premiere this fall, specifically in November. The anticipated sophomore season will follow the show's critically acclaimed first season, which premiered in November 2024 and aired new episodes until January. Co-created by Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace, Landman focuses on the cutthroat world of West Texas oil rigs. The show's first season earned critical praise, with Billy Bob Thornton earning acclaim for his portrayal of seasoned landman Tommy Norris.

While news that the show would return for a second season was confirmed last month, we now know the series will return this fall. The announcement of Landman's Season 2 premiere date came during Paramount Global's recent Q1 2025 earnings conference call via Paramount Global CEO Chris McCarthy. At first glance, Yellowstone didn’t have the makings of a major TV hit.

It’s impossible to have any discussion about actor and icon Sam Elliott without mentioning That Voice. Simultaneously rough and smooth, like gravel coated in melted butter, that distinctive, husky sound seems to emanate not from Elliott’s throat, but his very soul.

Filmmaker Brett Haley, who has made two recent films with Elliott, calls it “the most beautiful voice ever, special and singular.”

Audiences with good hearing have remarked on how similar Bradley Cooper sounds to his co-star Sam Elliott in “A Star is Born,” and according to Elliott, that was by design. When he first met with the actor-director about playing his older brother in the film, Cooper “played a tape for me” showcasing his extensive work with a vocal coach. Elliott thought “it sounded very much like me,” but he wasn’t offended. Quite the opposite, he took it as a good sign. “I thought it kind of increased my chances for being in the film,” he explains.
