A ten-part anthology series of one and a half hours each that once aired on a cable TV channel. Almost all of the episodes are sketches of real-life B-movies set in the 1950s, but done with a 1990s feel. Rock 'n' roll, road movie elements, slicked-back hair, milkshakes, convertibles and hot rods, and outdoor movie theaters are all included. The unusual and rare genre mix is one of the reasons why this work is worth paying attention to, and the fact that one of the works, "Roadracers", was directed by Robert Rodriguez, who was then unknown to anyone, and whose work, although it has no direct ideological inspiration, indirectly references "Rebel Without a Cause" (1954) with James Dean, may increase the level of potential interest.
Otherwise, in one form or another, the following are cited: "Shake, Rattle & Rock!", "Girls in Prison" and "Runaway Daughters" from 1956, "Dragstrip Girl", "Sorority Girl", "Motorcycle Gang", "The Delinquents" and "Reform School Girl" from 1957, "The Cool and the Crazy" from 1958.
Filming was short - 12 days per episode, a budget of 1,3 million dollars for each, a scattering of not yet particularly famous young actors, among whom in particular were: Salma Hayek, Alyssa Milano, Renee Zellweger, Mark Dacascos, Shannen Doherty, Jared Leto, Matt LeBlanc.
