Gotham Knights was released in 2022 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, and it was an interesting take on the Bat family. Hardcore fans of the DC franchise looked at the game and thought one performance had a striking resemblance to another adaptation in live-action; however, the voice actor claims it was all a coincidence.

The gaming community had high hopes for Gotham Knights; unfortunately, it failed to resonate with the fans. While the game had its share of shortcomings, the same can’t be said about the voice acting performances. Each cast member brought their best to the table and sent the gaming community into the streets of Gotham as they fight Batman’s rogues gallery. One of those villains in Oswald Cobblepot, better known as the Penguin.

Frequent collaborator, Rick Baker, confirmed Cannom’s death in an Instagram post on Friday. Together, the pair worked on films like “Cocoon,” “The Howling, ” “The Fury” and the music video for Michael Jackson’s 1983 hit “Thriller.”
“I just heard the sad news of the passing of one of the great makeup artists. When I moved out of my first garage workshop, Greg moved in. When I outgrew my first industrial unit, Greg took that over. His work will be remembered long after his passing.

Emily Bett Rickards is ready to play Felicity Smoak again. The actor recently revealed that she would be open to appearing in an Arrow TV movie or limited revival series.
During an appearance on Michael Rosenbaum's Inside of You podcast (via TVLine) to promote her new movie, the Mildred Burke sports biopic Queen of the Ring, Rickards opened up about her shocking exit from the original Arrowverse series, what led to that decision, and why she is now ready to reprise the role of Felicity. "As the years went on, things got like a little crazy, but I’m still so grateful for not only Arrow, but for Felicity. I’m really proud of who Felicity was," the actor began. "I think she got a little lost in the later seasons, and I wish I could have changed that for her, but I wasn’t a writer."

Katie Cassidy faced a tough moment in her career when she learned her character, Laurel Lance, also known as Black Canary, would be killed off on the CW show Arrow. She had been part of the series from the start, appearing in its first four seasons. The news came in 2016, catching her off guard just days before the episode was set to film.
She shared her feelings on Michael Rosenbaum’s podcast, Inside of You, saying, “I had to eat some humble pie when they killed me off that show. It was really hard.” Cassidy felt a mix of emotions—sadness, shock, and even anger.
She remembered being on a call with producers Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, and Andrew Kreisberg, who told her, “Listen, unfortunately I have to tell you you’re the one that’s in the grave.” That moment hit her hard, especially since she loved playing Laurel...

Katie Cassidy played Arrow's Laurel Lance and while her transformation into Black Canary was a little convoluted, fans embraced the character and weren't happy when she died in season 4.
That came as part of the big "Who's in the grave?" mystery that lasted right up until Damien Darhk killed Lauren in a moment that faced a significant amount of backlash at the time.
During an interview with Michael Rosenbaum, Cassidy reflected on being dropped from the series and initially not being concerned about Black Canary being in the grave when the season 4 premiere aired. However, things changed in the build to that year's New York Comic Con.
Arrow showrunners Marc Guggenheim and Wendy sent an email to the cast - shortly before they'd be filming the mystery character's death scene - and Cassidy recalled, "For whatever reason, my stomach just dropped. I immediately text Marc Guggenheim, who I adore,...

Tom Welling's Superman leads an evil version of the Justice League from Smallville through new DC artwork. While Smallville is turning 24 years old later this year, the show's popularity is not slowing down any time soon, as the show enjoys continuing popularity through streaming worldwide and home media releases. With the fandom always growing, the trend of the series being celebrated through fan celebrations years after the Smallville ending continues.
While fans were used to seeing Smallville and its depiction of the Justice League in the traditional heroic way, things could look a lot different if there were evil versions of them. To show what a twisted and corrupted Justice League in the Smallville franchise could look like, Buffy2Ville shared a new gallery of art featuring Welling as Ultraman, an evil version of Superman, along with various members of the iconic DC team, but as villains. Characters are always getting new costumes if they're around long enough, and few characters have been in comics as long as Robin. From Dick Grayson to Damian Wayne, each Robin brought a new look to the role, and some creators decided to go even further in the Multiverse and get really creative with the iconic costume.
For a character who has been around as long as Robin and with DC's entire multiverse to pick from, there have been tons of looks for the Boy Wonder over the years. While everyone knows the classic red, green, and yellow that Robin typically wears, some creators have gone a different route in the past. Be it evil versions of Robin or just entirely new ideas for the iconic look, Robin has some of the most surprising costume variants in all of DC history.

Jason Voorhees has become synonymous with his iconic hockey mask, which has kept the "Friday the 13th" franchise in the public consciousness despite Jason having not appeared in an official, franchise capacity since the 2009 remake. It's the result of some legal issues between the franchise and the character's creators, but that dang hockey mask has guaranteed that just like the slasher villain who wears it, Jason Voorhees will never die. Hardcore horror fans know that the hockey mask didn't show up until "Friday the 13th Part III," but even more interesting is how Jason has been presented behind the mask or in a few instances, without it completely.
Jason Voorhees has been through it over the years. He's drowned (more than once), been struck in the head with an axe, impaled through the skull with his own machete, hacked to bits, chained to the bottom of a lake, taken a boat propeller to the throat,...

The Arrowverse was a monumental achievement for DC TV. Everything started with Stephen Amell's Arrow in 2012, as Greg Berlanti kick-started a new universe of DC shows on The CW. The Arrowverse expanded with Grant Gustin's The Flash joining the schedule, as well as Melissa Benoist's Supergirl on CBS. This was the point where things started to become clear about the Arrowverse's intentions to become the biggest cinematic universe on television.
The Flash ended with Season 9 and took on the duties of bookending the Arrowverse. While wrapping up its storylines, showrunner Eric Wallace made sure to include major Arrowverse heroes like Green Arrow and Supergirl's Dreamer. Fans enjoyed the final season as it rounded out twelve years of great superhero television on The CW. However, Superman & Lois is technically an Arrowverse show that is still going, but most fans don't consider it canon anymore after Season 2.

Warning: Spoilers for Absolute Power: Task Force VII #6 ahead!DC's Absolute Power event has delivered an absolute bombshell for Wonder Woman fans with the apparent return of her Earth-2 counterpart's daughter to Prime Earth continuity. While contemporary readers may know Trinity as Wonder Woman's daughter, the return of Hippolyta "Lyta" Trevor to DC canon has major ramifications for the entire DC Universe.
In Absolute Power: Task Force VII #6 by Stephanie Williams, Khary Randolph, Alex Guimares, and Dave Sharpe, one of Amanda Waller's Amazo robots invades Themiscyra as retribution for the island nation harboring superheroes. When Paradise Lost begins draining the Well of Souls, it identifies the spirits of specific fallen heroes, many of whom possess links to pre-Crisis continuities.
One name in particular stands out from the rest: that of Lyta Trevor, with the superheroine code name "Fury" - also known as the long-forgotten daughter of Earth-2's Wonder Woman.

Nightwing and Daredevil share a love for the law, with both tackling crime at night and upholding justice in the courtroom. Nightwing, while not a full lawyer, has a law degree and experience working within the legal system, much like Daredevil. The shared interests between Nightwing and Daredevil could provide a strong foundation for an interesting and engaging crossover event.
Marvel and DC have crossed over a few times, but despite fan demand, readers have yet to see Daredevil and Nightwing share any on-panel interactions. This lack is a shame, considering both characters have a ton in common like how they're both lawyers.
The version of Nightwing that most people know never became a full lawyer though his law degree is mentioned in Nightwing #80 by Tom Taylor, Bruno Redondo, Adriano Lucas, and Wes Abbott but the original Dick Grayson, who's actually from Earth-2, did eventually take on the role of a defense attorney.

The Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths movie trilogy concludes the Tomorrowverse by creating a new continuity for future stories. The Huntress' comic book history is controversial due to her death in 1985's Crisis on Infinite Earths, and the reboots and retcons that followed. The Crisis movie trilogy avoids the comics' mistakes with The Huntress by not complicating her history and by emphasizing her importance to Batman's emotional growth.

The Arrowverse introduced many great DC characters throughout its run. Some of these heroes and villains have great, expansive histories with endless issues and appearances in DC Comics. However, the Arrowverse always prided itself on building lesser-known or original characters who eventually became fan favorites, think; Alex Danvers, Harrison Wells or Cat Grant.
With DC Comics' long history, there were always bound to be heroes or villains that were excluded from the Arrowverse. Some characters like Darkseid weren't expected to appear, given that he was always meant to be the Dceu's main villain, like Thanos is to the MCU. They normally found a way to include nearly everyone they wanted, but in some cases, great DC characters were ignored that would've been a great match for the Arrowverse.

As the third act in a trilogy of animated films based on the beloved DC comic series Crisis on Infinite Earths, Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths Part Three had big shoes to fill. It was tasked with wrapping up storylines from the iconic 1985–1986 miniseries as well as over a decade of DC animated movies.
An epic tale spanning countless worlds, the comic’s plot saw the Anti-Monitor threaten to wipe out the entire multiverse. Now it is up to the animated sequel to pull everything together in a climactic and satisfying conclusion.
Part Three picks up where the previous film left off, with our heroes scrambling after Supergirl is manipulated into killing the powerful Monitor. Stranded outside of the normal space-time continuum in a dimension called the Bleed, they watch helplessly as the Anti-Monitor’s devastating antimatter waves begin consuming reality.
Their only hope is splicing together a plan utilizing survivors from different worlds.

A mysterious character with a dark uniform, dark goggles, and a U-shaped logo on his chest has been spotted on the Superman set. Alternate realities and hypothetical timelines are part of the comics industry's bread and butter. They've been around since the earliest days of the genre, especially in superhero comics at DC and Marvel. Both companies feature a "prime" universe, with the main version of the characters everyone knows and loves. However, these primary universes exist in a multiverse, with thousands of possible variations. Often times, this leads to certain other universes, like DC's Earth-2 and Marvel's Ultimate Universe getting the spotlight. Sometimes, however, alternate realities will get a brief, but memorable, spotlight.
Marvel's What If comics explored this exact concept. They took a pivotal moment in a character's story and changed things slightly, and explored this new reality. These were brief, single issue stories that were tons of fun and pretty popular. It is therefore no surprise that Marvel eventually adapted them with the What If...? These were brief, single issue stories that were tons of fun and pretty popular. It is therefore no surprise that Marvel eventually adapted them with the What If...? In 2006's Infinite Crisis, the Superman of Earth-2 declared Nightwing the only person who is a better hero in DC's main reality than in his own ideal world. In the two decades since, Nightwing has gone from strength to strength, ultimately saving the entire multiverse. Batman aimed to help Nightwing become a better man than the Dark Knight himself, and he succeeded.
DC is full of amazing and powerful heroes, but despite a huge range of accomplishments, the publisher already confirmed Nightwing is the best among them. While this is a fact that Batman has known ever since he took Dick Grayson under his wing, it was actually Superman who confirmed no-one holds a candle to Bldhaven's protector... but not the Superman fans know.

Surprise! Dick Grayson and Barbara Gordon have a baby together, adding a new member to the Bat-Family in DC's Black Label series. While this new reveal is significant, it's not the first time Nightwing and Batgirl have been depicted as parents in alternate universes. Starfire and Nightwing's daughter Mar'i Grayson (Nightstar) remains a favorite alternate universe child of Dick Grayson's.
Warning: Potential Spoilers for The Boy Wonder #1!
DCs new Black Label series, while primarily focused on Damian Waynes Robin origin story from his perspective, contains a surprising revelation about Batgirl and Nightwing tucked away in its first issue. Dick Grayson and Barbara Gordon are officially revealed to be the proud parents of a new baby. As most fans know, this isn't the first child born to the lovebirds. Nevertheless, this new Bat-Family addition has taken many fans off-guard.
This new baby makes it clear that Nightwing chose Batgirl over Starfire in this universe.

Power Girl, once known as Kara Zor-l, adopted a new identity in 2023 as Paige Stetler, a name with a cowboy connection that fans will love. The transformation was part of the Dawn of DC initiative and gave Power Girl a fresh start distinct from Supergirl in Power Girl #1. Paige Stetler's lone ranger name suits her preference for working alone, inspired by writer Leah Williams' experiences with cowboys on a Montana ranch.
Power Girl, Earth-2's Super Girl, officially distinguished herself from Kara Zor-El in 2023 by adopting a new identity, shedding her previous name Kara Zor-l in favor of Paige Stetler. However, "Paige Stetler" is more than just a randomly chosen name; it holds a cowboy connection that fans are sure to love.

Lex Luthor actor Michael Rosenbaum, who was a main cast member for Smallville's first seven seasons, recently opened up about the iconic Superman nemesis' controversial ending in the two-hour series finale.
In an interview with Screen Rant, Rosenbaum addressed Lex's inclusion in the series finale, which saw Earth-2 Lionel Luthor resurrect his son with a little help from Darkseid. However, during a struggle with his half-sister Tess Mercer, Lex's memories are wiped after Tess rubs a specialized neurotoxin on him shortly after being fatally stabbed. While this allowed Smallville to bring back Lex without him remembering that Clark Kent was Superman, fans did not take kindly to this massive change, and it has remained a controversial moment for the series ever since.

Val-Zod uses sun-dipping for solitude and enhanced powers, unlike Clark Kent who avoids it. The story "Pure Blackness" from DC Power 2024 #1 showcases Val-Zod's unique perspective as a pacifist Superman succeeding Clark Kent. Val-Zod's story portrays a different take on sun-dipping, highlighting his use of power upgrades for personal solitude.
Although Superman Clark Kent avoids the power upgrade that comes from sun-dipping, his multiverse counterpart, Val-Zod, has no problem using it. The Superman of Earth-Two shares some of his Prime Earth version's noblest qualities, while standing out as a unique take on the Man of Steel.
Superman's reliance on yellow sun energy to gain his powers is a well-known aspect of his lore. While Clark Kent avoids direct contact with the sun for upgrades, the story "Pure Blackness" by John Ridley and Edwin Galmon from DC Power 2024 #1 shows that Val-Zod learned to master sun-dipping long ago.

Gold Kryptonite is a new tool in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, allowing Task Force X to weaken and potentially kill Superman. Regular Kryptonite doesn't work on Superman in the game due to changes made by Brainiac to the Justice League members. Gold Kryptonite has a permanent impact on Superman, making even minor exposure enough to alter him forever.
Gold Kryptonite ends up playing a critical role in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, but it's not a concept that will be immediately familiar to everyone playing the game. True to its name, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League follows Task Force X on their mission to take down the typical heroes of DC stories, who have been brainwashed by the supervillain Brainiac. Of course, this isn't an easy task for a band of dysfunctional miscreants to accomplish, especially when it comes to taking down the nearly invulnerable Man of Steel himself.

Matt Reeves’ The Batman made a killer splash with audiences and critics. Shortly after the film’s release, Warner Bros. revealed it had no less than three HBO Max spin-off series in development. The most notable one focuses on Colin Farrell's Penguin character. Additionally, a Gotham Pd spin-off was ordered but was ultimately shelved; it is shifting now to Arkham Asylum. This new direction has an opportunity to expand Batman’s rogues' gallery for the Reeves universe in a fun, creative way.
From Forbes, Reeves said about the project:
“We’ve actually now [moved] more into the realm of exactly what would happen in the world of Arkham as it relates coming off of our movie and some characters and their origins…almost leaning into the idea of, it’s like a horror movie or a haunted house that is Arkham.” Reeves said.

DC Studios co-chair and co-ceo James Gunn recently confirmed that the upcoming animated adaptation of Crisis on Infinite Earths will not have anything to do with the transition of the DC Extended Universe into the DC Universe.
Responding to a fan on Threads who asked if the Crisis on Infinite Earths animated trilogy would have anything to do with the start of the Dcu, Gunn revealed that "They do not." Announced at the 2023 San Diego Comic-Con alongside an animated adaptation of Watchmen, the forthcoming animated project will be based on the 1980s 12-issue limited comic book series that dealt with the DC Multiverse being destroyed by the Anti-Monitor. After the remaining heroes and villains team up, they are able to stop the Anti-Monitor and create a single Earth.

With the recent craze for multiversal storytelling, now is a great time to look back to the parallel universe stories from comics that paved the way. From groundbreaking stories of the 1960s like “Flash of Two Worlds!” to modern epics such as Jonathan Hickman’s work on New Avengers, this classic science fiction element forces characters into introspection through an external foil.
The parallel universe provides a narrative way to create a foil for the characters and the world of the hero, upping the stakes from a simple antagonizing external conflict to one that forces the protagonist to ask moral or philosophical questions. The stories below attempt to draw a through line of how each story builds upon the last within a genre convention across the past 60+ years.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has brought the concept of the multiverse to new fans and has done so by exploring the many alternate worlds that these characters inhabit. As a result, fans have been able to see three Spider-Men team up in Spider-Man: No Way Home and Peggy Carter don a shield as Captain Carter in What If...? While it would be easy to consider the MCU as a pioneer of alternate realities, it was far from the first as even its best examples have nothing on the many different versions of Earth that have permeated the DC Universe.

DC Comics is no stranger to alternate universes. Its history is nothing if not a slow gradual process of bringing its various superheroes into a single narrative, resulting in multiple realities and periodic Crises to straighten things out. All this without taking its formal Elseworlds line into account, nor the various TV and movie adaptations of their deep well of characters. The cinematic DC Universe is just the latest incarnation of a very old tradition.

The Batman movies thus become an effective Elseworld of their own. It's entirely fitting, considering that Robert Pattinson's Bruce Wayne is...

Judging purely from the downward quality graph of its last few seasons and even the major portion of the final one, it feels like CW’s The Flash should have wrapped things up years ago. Even the most sincere fans of the series will acknowledge that poor writing and being overcrowded by unnecessary characters have absolutely destroyed any sort of significance the series ever had. It makes the realization all the more painful that the impeccable first two seasons of the series were trendsetting in superhero adaptations because they wore qualities like novelty, optimism, and hope on their sleeve. With the series finale releasing, the realization will dawn heavily on the fans who have invested themselves in the series for nine long years, as with the conclusion of the series, the last vestiges of the Arrowverse, the TV universe it was a part of, are gone in a flash too.

The following contains spoilers for The Flash Season 9, Episode 13, "A New World, Part Four: Finale," which aired May 24 on The CW.
The final season of The Flash on The CW wrapped up the story for the show's characters and the entire Arrowverse. This means that the entire final season was a bevy of guest appearances and cameos. Plenty of returning champs came back for the series finale, including villains and allies of Team Flash. After nine years and more than 100 episodes, it can be difficult to remember just who everyone is.
One of the most important returning characters was Rick Cosnett's Eddie Thawne, who came back for the final four episodes. Along with Iris's ex-fiancé, her daughter from the future Nora West-Allen, played by Jessica Parker Kennedy, is another holdover from the penultimate episode of The Flash. However, several other characters returned, many of them former Big Bad villains from past seasons.

Warning: Spoilers for The Flash season 9, episode 9
After ignoring the Jesse Quick mystery for three years, The Flash is finally hinting at her post-Crisis fate. Played by Violett Beane, the daughter of Earth-2’s Harrison Wells was among the first Arrowverse characters to die in “Crisis on Infinite Earths.” Though not actually featured in the event, Jesse seemingly perished when Earth-2 was erased in Arrow’s “Crisis on Infinite Earths” episode.
Earth-Prime was restored after the Crisis, but not everyone in the Arrowverse had a place in the new world Oliver Queen built. Jesse Quick, a once-valued member of Team Flash, was still counted as one of the casualties. It was likely that her absence was owed to the fact that Jesse was the daughter of a pre-Crisis Harrison Wells, whereas Earth-Prime’s version of the character had no children. After the Crisis, Team Flash came to the conclusion that Jesse had died,...

This article contains The Flash spoilers.
The Flash begins its final run of episodes with an hour that will delight longtime Arrowverse fans—and sets up a dramatic new possibility for the series’ endgame. “It’s My Party and I’ll Die If I Want To” may be most memorable for the fact that it brings back former Arrow stars Stephen Amell and David Ramsey—as well as The Flash favorite Keiynan Lonsdale—but it’s the show’s massive change to the very fabric of the Arrowverse as it has been understood since the events of the 2020 mega-crossover Crisis on Infinite Earths that may be the most impactful.
It’s hard to imagine an episode where Barry Allen’s death (however brief it might be) is only the third most interesting thing that happens during it, but here we are. Not only does Sendhil Ramamurthy’s villainous Bloodwork attempt...
