Well if you are a Shannon fan I can highly recommend "Obsessed" co-starring William Devane with a new set of choppers. Plot goes something like A man in his 50s becomes locked in the grip of a dangerous lover young enough to be his daughter. She is f-a-n-t-a-s-t-i-c and she gets to wear really great pumps and natty suits with big shoulder pads. Its a fave of mine - so good in fact I have it saved to the set top box so I can watch it if I can't sleep. And the scene where she confronts him at the country club is so realistic your skin actually crawls with embarrassment and fear (fear because she is holding on to her Spalding mini learner racquet). Anyway - if it's another rainy day get it as well as well as the chance to see the enigmatic Shannon
Jonathan Sanger directed this murky film written by David E. Peckinpah. I found it very predictable and often tedious. Watching William Devane, looking well his age and a bit older, make love to a young thing was what I found silly and not real. The young thing, played by Shannen Doherty, was infatuated with him. You gotta be kidding. Okay, maybe he had the money. But his money isn't what she wanted. This I found hard to believe. I did like Clare Carey, who played Devane's daughter, the only real value in the picture. I felt the two leads deserved each other. Both losers. As to the acting, well, I'd give them a so-so, except for Carey, whom I liked. There are better films on this subject of obsession.
I have a weakness for 80s/90s made for TV movies, and this is one of my favourites. Shannen is great in it, it's not one of your typical Fatal Attraction rip-offs, it's got enough differences. Full of cheesy lines, "I want to feel you against me, loving me", classic. If you're looking for something to pass an hour and a half, I recommend this one!
Lori, played by Shannen Doherty is quite the nut-case. A stalking but beautiful trophy girlfriend. William Devane, who played Ed Bledsoe is the charming, way older, well to do horny bachelor. I'm sorry but the relationship between Bledsoe and Lori is just plain unlikely. Really, to see them together made my skin crawl. Devane is just way too old. I cannot see those two together in real life. Why would they put it on film? The acting really is mediocre. Not their best performances. The only decent actor is the daughter (Andy) whose name I cannot recall. The only thing that bugged me about her is that hair-do. What is that? Not a bad movie if you're home sick in bed but if there's something else on, maybe you should pass this one up.
I just could not believe that Shannon Doherty or any young woman would carry on about William Devane. I know your lead to believe she had daddy issues, but I didn't get it. Maybe if she had a bunch or rats at her place like the movie 'Willard' I'd get it. The acting is decent enough though the love scenes were sort of gross. I liked William Devane in 'Marathon Man' & 'Testament', but come on now! Basically it's like like Fatal Attraction, or Play Misty For Me if you just make it young girl, older guy. The way she keeps trying and trying to win Devane's heart is all too much. I always liked Shannon from her Beverly Hills, 90210 days and felt the show sunk down when she left, I thought she'd make more of her career afterwords, but then again, who on that show did?

- Erros de gravaçãoEd says Laurie cancelled all his credit cards. However, that is not possible: he would have had to have given way too much information and they were never that close to begin with. (At no time is she shown shopping with his cards; she would have also needed his accounts numbers, his social security number as well as his mother's maiden name, but there isn't a scene showing her going through his personal documents to find that out.)
