Julian Sands, the British actor who pivoted from the romantic lead in “A Room With a View” to playing sinister characters in films like “Warlock,” was confirmed dead Tuesday after being reported missing near Mt. Baldy in Southern California on Jan. 13. He was 65.

On Saturday morning, hikers found human remains in the Mt. Baldy wilderness and contacted the Fontana Sheriff’s Station.

“The identification process for the body located on Mt. Baldy on June 24, 2023, has been completed and was positively identified as 65-year-old Julian Sands of North Hollywood. The manner of death is still under investigation, pending further test results. We would like to extend our gratitude to all the volunteers that worked tirelessly to locate Mr. Sands,” the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department wrote in a statement.

After sharing five years of her life onscreen through MTV's Siesta Key, Kelsey Owens is now focusing on her family while happily moving behind the camera, as well as launching a new creative business with her long-term partner and new housemate Max Strong. Set in Sarasota, Florida, Siesta Key first premiered on MTV in 2017, with model Kelsey starring as an original cast member. Her boyfriend, Max, entered into the fray during Siesta Key season 3 and filmed smaller scenes alongside Kelsey until Siesta Key season 4 came to a close.

Siesta Key star Sam Logan is seeking help from anyone with information on the men who broke into his Miami mansion. Recently, news broke that on January 15th, Sam's home was robbed while he and costars Mike Vazquez, Jordana Barnes, and Brandon Gomes were inside. They told officials two men with firearms entered the house through the sliding door and specifically targeted Brandon. Brandon suffered a minor injury, but none of the others were harmed. However, the robbers took a lot of Sam's jewelry, including his 80k Audemars Piguet watch. The cast members reportedly believe they were after Sam because of the expensive jewelry he wears on Siesta Key.

While there isn't one main cast member on Siesta Key, the show focused on Alex Kompothecras at the beginning, and fans quickly became invested in his love interest Juliette Porter's story as well. Throughout all 4 seasons, Juliette has gotten into dramatic fights, shared her thoughts and feelings, and had a few intense relationships.

APA has signed Mary Lambert, the director of the original Pet Sematary.

Lambert, whose additional credits include Pet Sematary Two, Siesta, The In Crowd and Face of Evil; is currently helming the Netflix holiday romantic comedy A Castle For Christmas starring Brooke Shields and Cary Elwes.

Lambert’s 1989 film adaptation of Stephen King’s horror novel remains the highest grossing horror film directed by a woman.

The director has helmed a number of music videos for some of music’s most notable figures including Debbie Harry, Janet Jackson and Madonna.

In addition to feature films and music videos, Lambert has directed a number of documentaries including 14 Women, Bobby Brown His Prerogative and Trading Places.

The filmmaker has also ventured into the TV realm, helming episodes for Arrow, The Blacklist, Strange Frequency and Tales from the Crypt.

Lambert continues to be managed by Pebble Entertainment, and by attorney David Nochimson.

Nobody in Siesta Key saw this news coming. On the Aug. 25 reunion show, Brandon Gomes dropped a huge surprise that left much of the cast visibly shocked and upset. Screenwriter Patricia Louisianna Knop, who collaborated with her producer-director husband Zalman King on erotically-charged films of the late 1980s and 1990s including “Siesta” and “9 1/2 Weeks,” died Aug. 7 in Santa Monica after a lengthy illness.

“9 1/2 Weeks,” starring Mickey Rourke and Kim Basinger, was directed by Adrian Lyne, co-produced by King and co-written by Knop. The film proved controversial for its explicit S&m-theme and was heavily cut before its U.S. release.

Her writing credits also include “Delta of Venus,” “Wild Orchid” and “Red Shoe Diaries.” King directed “Wild Orchid” and the pair collaborated on the screenplay for the film starring Rourke and Jacqueline Bisset, which also had to be cut in order to obtain an R-rating.

Knop’s other screenplays included “Lady Oscar” and “Silence of the North.”

Knop met King on a Caribbean-bound schooner in 1961, and King began acting on TV shows. Knop also co-wrote the book for Broadway...

Give it up for Juan Piquer Simon. Not only did the Spanish director bestow upon the horror world one of the craziest and memorable slashers of all time, Pieces (1983), he also found it within himself to give us Slugs (1988). Not quite as crazy as Pieces (but almost as good), Slugs trades heavily in the J.P. Simon business: a whole lot of weird, a nuclear ton of energy, and gore galore. If you only see one badly dubbed mollusk monster movie, filled with heavy pettin’ and (literally) explosive action, you would be wise to choose Slugs.

Released Stateside by New World Pictures (post Roger Corman years) in February, this Spanish/American coproduction has never been as beloved as J.P.’s killer-on-campus opus, but that’s only because it seems to play out in a more straightforward manner. Trust me; this film brings all the B level goods, with no expiration date in sight.

In a career that has spanned almost 35 years, filmmaker Mary Lambert has seen a lot and learned even more. She's worked with monsters of all shapes and sizes, from Mötley Crüe to Stephen King. But even she had never encountered something the likes of her latest film, Mega Python vs. Gatoroid, a wonderful little creature feature created for the Syfy cable network by infamous B-movie production house The Asylum.

When I spoke to Lambert recently, she said, "Every day on the set was like being pushed out of an airplane with a World War II parachute into hostile territory. At the end of every day, we were just glad to be alive, even though we knew as survivors that we were just going to be pushed out of the airplane again tomorrow. Nothing surprises me anymore."

The helmer of Pet Sematary and its sequel, The In Crowd, The Attic and Siesta, waxed enthusiastic yesterday about her Syfy debut, which airs Saturday, January 29 at 9 p.m., and also spoke with us exclusively about her post-mega Python future.

More than a few jaws drop when Syfy announced that feature film director Mary Lambert, helmer of Pet Sematary, The In Crowd and Siesta, would be tackling the cable channel’s latest over-the-top monsterfest, Mega Python Vs. Gatoroid. After tons of both mainstream and fan press over the wacky project’s announcement, Mega Python Vs. Gatoroid will premiere on Saturday, January 29 at 9 p.m. The Syfy original movie spawned from The Asylum, makers of such low-rent fare as Mega Piranha and Mega Shark Vs. Giant Octopus, which respectively starred Mega Python Vs. Gatoroid headliners Tiffany and Debbie Gibson. In this exclusive interview, Lambert says she dove into her first Syfy flick for the fun of it and predicts viewers will follow suit.
