Perguntas frequentes

The after credits scene wasn't in the script and was Gary Goddard's idea. Gary Goddard had BOSS Studio to prepare a vat of pink liquid. Gary Goddard talked to Frank Langella about it and told him he was going to go in with makeup and costume and he was going to pop his out up out of the pink liquid and say "I'll be back!". Frank Langella agreed to do the after credits scene and it was done in 1 take.

It's most likely lava from Eternia's core or acid. In Albert Pyun's script from the abandoned sequel 'Masters of the Universe II', the movie opens with Skeletor swimming in the pink liquid which is burning his skin and melting his armour and Skeletor gets sucked down a pipe at high speed.

She-Ra doesn't appear in the movie and is most likely on Etheria.

On the medieval planet Eternia. He-Man, a warrior prince learns his nemesis the vile dark lord Skeletor has taken over the fortress Castle Greyskull and has taken the Sorceress whom lives in and is a stewardess of Castle Greyskull prisoner and is draining The Sorceress of her magical powers as part of his goal to gain the powers of Greyskull and become ruler of Eternia and master of the universe. He-Man and his friends, the warrior woman Teela and her father Man-At-Arms learn from a dwarf locksmith named Gwildor that Skeletor's chief henchwoman Evil-Lyn stole from him his invention "The Cosmic Key", a device that opens portals and that Skeletor used The Cosmic Key to open a portal and allow ed Skeletor to attack and take over Castle Greyskull and Gwildor reveals that he made another Cosmic Key, which Skeletor doesn't know about. After a failed attempt to rescue The Sorceress. He-Man and his companion escape from Castle Greyskull through a portal only to find themselves on Earth and that they lost the Cosmic Key in the process. He-Man and his companions set out to find the Cosmic Key only to learn it has been found by teenage couple Julia Winston and Kevin Corrigan, whose lives are soon in danger when Kevin activates the Cosmic Key which Skeletor's Cosmic Key detects and Skeletor sends Evil-Lyn and his loyal warriors to Earth to take the other Cosmic Key and capture He-Man and bring him back to Eternia as Skeletor intends to kill He-Man when he gets the powers of Castle Greyskull and Skeletor wants He-Man and Gwildor's Castle Greyskull at all costs.

Masters of the Universe is based on a popular cartoon called "He-Man and The Masters of the Universe", the cartoon, itself is based on a toy franchise created by Mattel.

Pig Boy was played by Richard Szyponder. Richard Szyponder was given a small part in the film. After winning a competition, where Richard got to visit the set and meet the cast and director. The executives at Mattel wanted director Gary Goddard to give Richard a part in the film and Richard was put in makeup and custome, as a servant of Skeletor, Pig Boy and is seen handing Skeletor his staff, when returning from Earth with the subdued He-Man.

We see the bottomless pit beneath the throne room, which is filled with red water, which Skeletor fell into, in the climatic final battle with He-Man. Skeletor surfaces and says "I'll be back!" which ends in a freeze frame and fades to black. The extra scene was supposed to set the stage for the sequel "Masters of the Universe 2", but since the film didn't do very well at the Box Office, the sequel was dropped. The script for "Masters of the Universe 2" had been written, but was rewritten and became the script for Jean-Claude Van Damme's sci-fi action film Cyborg (1989).

You are right, in the cartoon, He-Man never killed anyone, which was a "No!" for a cartoon aimed at children. But Masters of the Universe which was darker than the cartoon, which the film is based on, was an action movie and Skeletor's crack troops, which were written as robot warriors, were created for He-Man to smash, fight and kill and Skeletor's crack troops are the only people He-Man and his companions kill throughout the movie.

It's assumed they were killed by Skeletor, when Skeletor used the cosmic key to enter the city and break into Castle Grayskull.

Gwildor had a secret passage in his home, which led to caverns beneath Castle Grayskull.

Frank Langella was offered the role of Skeletor and Frank Langella decided to take the role of Skeletor, because he wanted to do it for his son Alex, who was a fan of He-Man and Langella had felt Skeletor was a role he couldn't refuse. Frank Langella admitted in an interview that Skeletor was his favorite role.
