Barbara Kellerman, who plays the Green Lady, previously played the White Witch in As Crônicas de Nárnia: O Leão, a Feiticeira e o Guarda-Roupa (1988). This has led to the popular misconception that the two characters are the same person. In the book, it is merely suggested that the Green Lady is one of the Northern Witches.
Aslan is a Turkish word meaning Lion. Lewis came up with the name during a trip to Turkey before 1922, where he saw the Sultan's elite guards, called Aslan because of their bravery and loyalty.
Aslan's mane was made from real yak hair. The eyes were made softer than a real lion's, while the face had animatronic functions. Two people were inside the lion, somewhat like a pantomime horse.
Lesley Nicol (Giant Queen) played Mrs. Beaver in "The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe".
Experiment House satirizes progressive educational institutions such as Summerhill School in England, which were fashionable at the time. CS Lewis also based Jill Pole's experiences of bullying on some of his own. In the book, the head of the school is female.
