MMC was the best show for young people out there. You couldn't get enough. It was singing, dancing, AND acting. 3 different aspects of show business. It launched the careers of Britney Spears, JC Chasez, Justin Timberlake, Tony Lucca, Keri Russell, Dale Godboldo, Ryan Gosling, Marc Worden, Christina Aguilera, and the list just goes on and on! This show is DEFINATELY a 10!
In 1979 (1981 in the USA) "You Can't Do That On Television" came on to the air. It was the highest rated show on cable. In 1989, To rip-off "You Can't Do That On Television," and make another generation of viewers, Disney came up with "The All New Mickey Mouse Club" (a.k.a MMC).
MMC is a mix of "You Can't Do That On Television" and the first episodes of "The Mickey Mouse Club" (the original series). This show contains everything you can need: music, and comedy. The sketches aren't really funny, and the music looks lip-synched most of the time. MMC can be enjoyable if you set your mind to it. If you don't, in plain English words, the show sucks.
If you are a big fan of "You Can't Do That On Television," you we'll hate the show. Everybody else will just like MMC (such as Disney fans, and Mickey Mouse Club fans). This show is okay, but could of been better. My Grade: C+/B-

I really did like this show now that I think about. Sometimes I wish they would play reruns of it. Ryan Gosling and Justin Timberlake were so cute! Britney and Christina were still friends! It was a really funny and cute show to me. I saw it as a marathon when NSYNC was famous and so it was cute to see Justing Timberlake and JC acting and stuff. But my I really liked Ryan Gosling. Still do, of course. The random skits make you laugh ... the music videos sort of strange ... and Britney Spears singing ... um ... yeah. The skits were great. I love the one drama I forgot what it was called ... liked "Emerald Cove" or whatever. That was hilarious, I think it was supposed to be dramatic, but you end up laughing anyways. But my favorite still is, and always will be by Ryan Gosling, "Aren't you just sick and tired of the word bogus?"
I used to love watching "The Mickey Mouse Club", or better yet "MMC", as a kid. I was pretty much obsessed with the show. I had almost every episode on tape. :) This show was such a great show for kids and teens to watch. They had cute little skits along with singing and dancing, not to mention a wonderful cast. I would probably compare this show to Nickelodeon's "Roundhouse", but to me they were both really different shows. The success of so many of the castmates (Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera,...) just proves how well the casting directors did their job. :) It's been really fun to get to see so many of the mouseketeers grow up and be so successful. It's kind of like I grew up with them. All in all, this was a great show. I would of course give it a ten out of ten. :)
I used to watch MMC when I was about six to seven years old and I loved it! Considering the time it was set in (the late eighties and early nineties) it was representative of all the teen/child oriented shows, but it was much more entertaining than others I could name (such as Kids Incorporated, which used to air just before). A lot of people roll their eyes at me when I stress that it was a good show, but it really was. And the good thing is, I do not recall seeing Britney Spears or Justin Timberlake once. EVER. They weren't the stars, because there were other, older, more talented kids doing their thing in the spotlight (including Keri Russell, Tony Lucca, and yes, JC Chasez). Great show, even if today it would look a little dated.

- CuriosidadesNick Carter auditioned for a spot in the same lineup as Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Justin Timberlake and Ryan Gosling. He was offered the part but turned it down because he'd been invited to help form a vocal group which eventually became the Backstreet Boys. MMC was canceled a year later.
