Its only asset is Catherine Deneuve's presence.However,in the reviews that were written at the time ,one sees little of the unqualified enthusiasm that accompanied her in her career when she was directed by Luis Bunuel or Roman Polanski.The harsh truth is the screenplay is hackneyed and anyone with a IQ higher than 70 will find out who the murderer is just after his appearance on the screen.

Deneuve portrays a two-bit psychologist-on-the-airwaves in a two-bit radio station.She got a raw deal.When she was a child,her parents were slain and,fifteen years later, the killer (or the so-called killer) has just been released from the insane asylum .Horrible things happen:first,Deneuve's daughter's parrot is killed!and that's only the beginning.Fortunately,her older brother-although Andre Dussolier is actually three years younger than Deneuve-is a captain and he puts one of his detectives in charge of his sister's protection.

Deneuve's fans will enjoy.The others,why bother?The last trick ,on the phone, was used so many times that it would not scare a four-year-old .
