Great 80's sitcom. Lifetime played reruns for awhile. It was about ex-stockbrokers who opened up a childcare center in their house, and everyone seemed to think that was just fine. For some reason, this quickie show sticks out in my mind because it was the among the first things Thora Birch of "American Beauty" did, as well as Julia-Louis Dreyfuss from "Seinfeld," who played Eileen on this show before she was Elaine on "Seinfeld." The best episode of this show was when Ross, the couch potato son dreamed he was on "The Brady Bunch," where all the Brady men did was get perms and "fix their bikes." Strangely enough, Christopher Barnes, who played Ross, went on to play Greg in "The Brady Bunch" movies.
I haven't actually seen the show since the 80's but I LOVED it. I remember Ross, the teenage boy, always wore a blue robe around the house. My favorite episode is the one where he watches the Brady Bunch marathon on tv and falls asleep, dreaming he is a Brady kid. I'd love to see this show in reruns.
The most memorable episode of this show, in my humble opinion, was that in which Ross dreamed that he was in the Brady dimension in which he and his Brady brethren were doomed to fix bikes and comment that things were neat-o. Not only was it a funny episode but obviously caught the eye of the producers of the Brady Bunch Movies insofar as Christopher Daniel Barnes, the actor who played Ross on 'Day By Day', was cast as Greg Brady in the aforementioned movies. Although most of this actor's work has resulted in little critical acclaim, I have somehow followed his career quite closely having been a fan of 'Starman', 'Day By Day' and of course, the Brady Movies in which Ben Stiller's wife stole the show as Marsha, Marsha, Marsha!
I thought this show was a little better than most late 80-early 90's sitcoms. I still prefer sitcoms from the 50, 60 & 70's but Linda Kelsey was good and Julia Louise-Dreyfuss is always a pleasure to watch. The oldest son Ross was a hoot. Classic episode- Ross watches a Brady Bunch marathon instead of studying and dreams himself into a Brady episode. Ironic since Christopher Daniel Barnes would play Greg in the Brady big screen movies! I have always enjoyed anything Brady! Day By Day should be rerun by somebody or at least made available on video. This is a show I would rather watch than a lot of the bland shows that they are putting out now.
I saw a rerun of this on TV Land. It was a reunion episode where, my favorite actress, Julia Louis-Dreyfus is the main character. This was her pre-Seinfeld show & I've got to say Seinfeld is better by a landslide. It's very corny, but if you're in the mood to relive the 80's, this is a good show. No wonder it only lasted two seasons.

- CuriosidadesChristopher Daniel Barnes' character has a dream in "A Very Brady Episode" in which he is Chuck Brady, an additional brother to the three famous brothers in original A Família Brady (1969) TV series. He then went on to star as Greg in A Família Sol, Lá, Si, Dó (1995) and A Volta da Família Sol, Lá, Si, Dó (1996).
