He might not be a name audiences would have expected to be paired with Superman, but the first film in the Dcu uses the song "Punkrocker" by the Swedish electronic/alternative group the Teddy Bears, with vocals by Iggy Pop, to close out the movie.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, "Punkrocker" popularity rose significantly after Superman's release, with nearly 190,500 streams on July 12 after Superman's opening night, compared to 1,572 streams on the Fourth of July the week prior. Iggy Pop, often called the 'Grandfather of Punk' from his time as the lead singer for the band The Stooges and a successful solo career, spoke about the use of the song in Superman.
