Lead stars Paula Prentiss and Richard Benjamin were married. The two were later star-teamed in the telemovie Packin' It In (1983), and Prentiss appeared uncredited in Amor por Acidente (1996) which Benjamin directed.
Reportedly, distribution producer Roger Corman wanted Kari Michaelsen to be nude during her bath scene to spice up the video release in Europe. But Michaelsen refused. He considered using a body double but ultimately dropped the idea.
Principal photography lasted three weeks.
The address of the house is 329 Elm Street. While the use of "Elm Street" may seem like just another parody in the mix, this film came out three years before A Nightmare On Elm Street (1984).
Star Richard Benjamin was cast in the lead role in this film after two years earlier having made a standout supporting role performance in another horror comedy Amor à Primeira Mordida (1979) which spoofed the Dracula legend. Depois de Sexta 13 (1981) also featured vampires.
