Hutton plays a more than good role here as the eldest of 3 children who have been abandoned by their parents.

He is more or less forced to take on the parental role and when child protection services intervene not long after, the 3 are separated after a short time because probably no foster family would want to adopt 3 children together.

When Donald (Hutton) finally turns 18, his long search for his younger brother and sister begins, but the other foster parents thwart him, it becomes a long search of more than 5 years.

The playing time is remarkably short for this made-for-TV drama, but the story is captivating.

I see this movie is 2 hours but i only saw a 90 minutes version , too bad .

I think it is about time that this great movie be released on DVD I remember watching this movie like three times when I was a kid. I wish I could still find it. It is very good and Timothy Hutton is superb in this film about kids abandoned by their parents put up for adoption ultimately separated and the oldest sibling played by Hutton searches for his siblings. He finds them in the end very heart felt very emotional movie. When I first saw this movie I was just wow that was awesome I remember telling everyone I knew to see this movie. If anyone knows who owns the rights to this film please let them know there are fans of this movie that want to see it again.
