- Jack Terry: Yeah, I gotta go, but, um, whatta yuh say when you get outta here, we have a drink sometime... hmmm - in a glass?
- Jack Terry: First it's a drink, then it's my place, now it's a motel. Things are really movin' fast tonight, aren't they Sally.
- Sam: I need you now. Now get in here.
- [he presents three girls who all attempt a terrified scream]
- Sam: What do you think?
- Jack Terry: Keep looking.
- Sam: Keep looking? Hey Jack, what are you talking about?

- Sally: I really love movies, you know. It's a very interesting subject to me because I do make-up.
- Jack Terry: Do you?
- Sally: Yeah. Right now it's only behind a counter, but I have this dream about doin' make-up for movies. You know, like, I've seen these big movie stars like Barbra Streisand, you know? They don't do it right.
- Jack Terry: No.

- Detective Mackey: Why the fuck does everything have to be a conspiracy? Huh? A man has a couple too many drinks, he drives off the road, falls into a creek. Accident, plain and simple. Accident.

- Jack Terry: I thought you wanted to know about movies.
- Sally: Yeah, movies are great, but, I mean, this is - this is like real life on the streets. You know? It's exciting!
- Burke: I changed the tire. Made it look like a blowout. I erased the sound guy's tapes so everybody'll think he's a crackpot. Karp's disappeared, but I'll find him. But that still leaves the girl. I've decided to terminate her and make it look like one of a series of sex killings in the area. This would completely secure our operation.
- Jack Manners: What operation?
- Sally: I get paid to smile my ass off and show the 27 different color lipsticks they're pushin'. You know how much I make? Shit is what I make. And I sure as hell can't type. So it doesn't leave a helluva lot, you know?
- Sally: Gee, what are you gonna do?
- Jack Terry: What?

- Sally: I need a drink, Manny. Come on, give me a drink.
- Manny Karp: Yeah, sure I'll get us a drink.
- Sally: Just give me the bottle.
- Manny Karp: Girl. Hey, now you're thinkin', babe.
- Lawrence Henry: Who gives a damn that you were there? You wanna tell his wife that he died with his hand up some girl's dress? Or maybe you'd rather she read it in the papers?
- Jack Terry: Well, that is what happened. I mean, that is the truth, isn't it?
- Detective at Hospital: A bang?
- Jack Terry: Yeah, some sort of a bang.
- Detective at Hospital: Where?
- Jack Terry: I'm not sure where.
- Detective at Hospital: You were facing the car?
- Jack Terry: Yes.
- Detective at Hospital: Well, you heard the blowout.
- Jack Terry: Yes, I heard the blowout, but the first sound I heard was a bang.
- Detective Mackey: Don't you understand? If they can get away with killing McRyan, who's next?
- Jack Terry: Who's 'they'? First tell me who 'they' is. What is that? A communist conspiracy of some kind? Or maybe it's a couple of Ayatollahs running out here in the street with blowguns.
- Detective Mackey: Oh, will you give me a break.
- Jack Terry: Save your paranoia for Public Television.
- Burke: I didn't kill him. It was an accident.
- Jack Manners: You accidentally shot out the tire of his car?
