An ailing Harvey Weinstein got a legal victory Thursday when he was approved to transfer out of Rikers Island and into the prison ward at Manhattan’s Bellevue Hospital to receive necessary medical treatment.

Judge Paul Goetz approved the defamed studio executive’s request late Thursday and ruled that Weinstein can stay in the hospital for the remainder of his rape retrial.

Judge Curtis Farber will preside over Weinstein’s retrial, which kicked off with jury selection this week. That process will pick up again Monday after nine jurors were successfully selected; 12 are needed in all with six additional alternates.

Garth Brooks has been accused of sexual assault.

On October 3, an unnamed woman filed a lawsuit that claimed she worked as the iconic singer’s makeup artist and stylist beginning in 2017; the woman also says she was hired to do wife Trisha Yearwood’s makeup in 1999.

In the legal document, the woman alleges Brooks raped her… undressed in her presence… exposed his genitals and buttocks… and openly spoke about sex and sexual fantasies in numerous incidents five years ago.

“Brooks increased the frequency of his sexually charged conversations with Ms. Roe, and this included his repeated remarks about having a threesome with his wife in which he implied that Ms. Roe would be the third person,” the alleged victim wrote in her lawsuit.

Former Republican Representative Liz Cheney is going after Donald Trump in a new ad, which is scheduled to air in New Hampshire ahead of CNN’s town hall with Trump on Wednesday. The pointed minute-long commercial calls out Trump’s involvement in the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol and claims that “there has never been a greater dereliction of duty by any president.”

“Donald Trump has proven he is unfit for office. Donald Trump is a risk America can never take again,” Cheney says in the final seconds of the commercial.

The ad switches between clips of Trump and the Jan. 6 riots as Cheney provides a voiceover. “Donald Trump is the only president in American history who has refused to guarantee the peaceful transfer of power. Last night, Feldman found a suspicious package on his doorstep, which led him to contact law enforcement.

While the actor/musician has been getting a lot of positive attention over the past several weeks, he has also been dealing with online harassment, along with threats to end his life. A French actress accused director Roman Polanski on Friday of raping her at a ski chalet in Gstaad, Switzerland, in 1975.

Valentine Monnier told Le Parisien that the director violently raped her when she was 18 years old. The publication also spoke with several people who offered corroboration, saying she had told them of the incident shortly afterward.

Polanski is not facing any legal action in France over this alleged rape since the country has a 20-year statute of limitations. But Monnier said she was moved to speak out now due to the release of Polanski’s latest film, “An Officer and a Spy” (“J’Accuse”), which hits theaters in France next week, where Gaumont will give it a wide release. The movie world premiered at the Venice Film Festival where it won the Silver Lion Grand Jury Prize and earned mostly positive reviews.

In a post-finale interview with The New York Times, Sophie Turner put the petition on blast.

This show has a lot of positive representations of men and masculinity, but it's also a show that understands how power imbalances, especially when it comes to gender, can manifest in a myriad of abuses.

Outlander has always been a show that is interested in exploring abuse of power as a theme.
