It deals with three friends, Juan De los Reyes : Pedrito Rico, Carlos : Juan Luis Galiardo and his girlfriend Massiel : Massiel herself . As Juan is a folkloric singer , Carlos is a song writer and Massiel a modern singer about to marry to Carlos . Then Massiel suffers a bus accident and dies . Later on , anxious and depressed Carlos falls in drinkness , while Juan accepts an offer from the Argentinean entrepreneur Diana : Ana Mariscal to music debut in Buenos Aires . Getting a considerable success in Argentina and South America , Juan returns Spain where he finds his friend Carlos really drunk and he then attempts to help him .
A musical drama with full of songs and dances , here apppears various singers, as the forgotten Pedrito Rico who died early , Massiel formerly her winning at Festival Eurovision and the band Los Flecos singing a lot of songs , and most of them sung by Pedrito Rico , such as : La Llamaban la Bien Paga or Vestida de Novia. The film relies heavily on multitude of songs by Maestro Quiroga , in fact , there are sixteen songs throughtout the flick . Quartet starring : Pedrito Rico , Juan Luis Galiardo , Ana Mariscal , Massiel who actually has a brief role in her film debut , are well accompanied by regular secondaries of Spanish cinema as Venancio Muro, Rafaela Aparicio, Erasmo Pascual, Manuel Arbo, Xan Das Bolas , Maria Luisa San José, among others .
The picture made in low budget was decently written/produced/directed by Ana Mariscal. She was a famous actress who turned filmmaking and production for her company , Bosco Films . Mariscal played a large number of films , outstanding the following ones : El ultimo Husar, La Florista de la Reina, Raza , Dulcinea , Princesa de Ursinos, La vida encadenada , Pacto de Silencio, El Gran Galeoto, Jeromin, Morena Clara, La Violetera , La Reina del Chantecler , and several others . Her first film as a director was Segundo Lopez 1952 , following Con la Vida hicieron Fuego 1957, a melodrama about Spanish Civil War . Their boxoffice flops led her to make commercial films with no much interest , such as a popular comedy : La Quiniela 1959, the Folkloric: Feria de Sevilla 1960 , the dramatic yarn : Hola Muchacho 1962 , the political : Occidente y Sabotaje 1962 , the traditional : Los Duendes de Andalucía 1964 , a bullfighting drama: El Paseillo 1968 and this Musical : Vestida de Novia 1967 .
