Another in the series of Warner Brother cartoons that spoofs the gangster movie cliché by using the character of Rocky to go up against the usual character in the usual sort of way. Here the material is reasonably good and creates several funny jokes - the dancing Bugs is one but my favourite is a running gag over a minute involving a series of lights and guns!
What makes it better than it sounds is great delivery from the characters. Rocky is hardly the best character as he is more about being a spoof than a character in his own right, however here his delivery is really good and his reactions are funny. Bugs is as good as ever and he really gives the mobsters a run for their money. His delivery combined with Rocky's reactions make this an enjoyable cartoon.
Overall this is an enjoyable short film that has good material that makes good use of the characters. Bugs is as good as usual and Rocky and Mugsy are better than they usually are and react well, making it funnier.
The animation is good, Bugsy and Mugsy has lovely backgrounds and colours, and the music has a lot of energy. The dialogue is typical Looney Tunes wit, but three things make it enjoyable. One is the sight gags, especially the end sequence with the magnet, words cannot describe how funny and clever that was. The second is Bugs, he has some great material and is just great fun as he manipulates Rocky into believing that Mugsy is untrustworthy. Then there is Mugsy and Rocky themselves, their interaction towards each other makes the cartoon so funny, Mugsy dim-witted and oblivious to Bugs's actions and Rocky as he abuses Mugsy for doing something he didn't do, if that makes sense that is. And I mustn't forget Mel Blanc, as always he is brilliant. Overall, this one is a classic. 10/10 Bethany Cox
Freling may have once been an innovative director, but as time went on, his cartoons became collections of overworked, reused material.

- CuriosidadesRocky's eyes are shown for a brief moment a few times during this short. He usually had his trademark hat pulled down over his brow.
- Erros de gravaçãoThe position of the ax handle that Mugsy is holding in his hand changes. First the handle is being held completely through his hands, then later is is not.

Mugsy: [Rocky and Mugsy have pulled off a robbery] Gee! Some haul!
Rocky: Yeah. All 14 karat.
Bugs Bunny: [from the hole in the floor] Carrots? Carrots? Who? What? When? Where? Why? How? Where? Who? When?
Rocky: Hey, Mugsy, we better get some shut-eye if'n we're gonna pull that job tomorrow.
Mugsy: Okay, boss.
Bugs Bunny: Why, those dirty crooks! Someone oughta teach 'em that crime doesn't pay, and it looks like that someone's gonna be me.
