The sports car in which Valdez so recklessly races Fred MacMurray about is not, as often mis-identified, a D-type Jaguar. It's a sports racer called a Lister, (sometimes Lister-Jaguar). Although it uses a Jaguar engine, it was totally different, being a space-frame construction housed in a Costin-designed alloy body, rather than a full monocoque like the D-type.
