Dylan Thomas

This Oscar winning short is worthy of view mostly because of the atmosphere it gives us rather than Dylan Thomas poems, though eloquently recited by the great Richard Burton. The images are beautiful, with Burton visiting the bucolic region where Thomas lived most of his life. It's filmed in such a way that you really feel being transported back to the 1940's instead of the decade in which was made, the 1960's and the environment is essential to understand a bit of the artist writes about - and there's readings of poems that reflect those places. I'm not a fan of the poet, and just went through it because it's a rare film to find but it was good, just didn't involved all that much. At least it was everything that "The Edge of Love" was not (an almost unfair comparison since the feature film was focused on his turbulent love affairs and not about his life). True fans of his and Burton will love this. 6/10
