This is a comedy but with some very dark subtlety. Anita Ekberg is the focus of everyone's interest in the trial against her for having murdered her husband, a rich millionaire, and the paparazzi are constantly crowding around her, almost making the trial impossible. Fred Clark plays the prosecutor, and he is actually the leading actor of this very arguable criminal comedy which actually is covert parody and assault on the entire judicial system, the trial running off the rails from the beginning in confusion and contradictions, so the judge decides to postpone the entire trial until the case has been thoroughly investigated at the scene of the crime, a beautiful Greek island west of Patras (actually Maratea south of Italy). They all go there, the judge, the advocate, the prosecutor, the police keeping Anita Ekberg chained and others, and naturally the investigation at the island also gets confused as they all fall in love with Anita and want to marry her, while you never can tell what she really is thinking. The murder mystery is finally resolved, but that's not the end of the story, as there are more revelations to emerge and some human mistakes as well, turning finally the entire matter upside down. Anita Ekberg is splendid in her beauty and a great actress, while all the others are being wound around her little finger and made perfect fools of, it's a perfect comedy in a way, while the one thing you lack is that the whole thing wasn't shot in colour. You would have liked to enjoy those wonderful landscapes of the Greek island in colour.
