This was the only feature film appearance for George Wagner as his professional wrestling persona, Gorgeous George. His flair for showmanship made him a national sensation at the time and one of the first superstars on the new medium of television.

At the time, most people had seen Gorgeous George only on small television screens. The first wrestling match shown in this film recreated his usual pre-match antics on the big screen.

The ring announcer was played by Jimmy Lennon Sr. who was a real ring announcer. He had appeared as a ring announcer in earlier feature films but, this was the first film in which he received on-screen credit. He would continue to appear as ring announcers, and a few other varied roles, in numerous theatrical feature films and television productions.

The first wrestling match shown in this film is a recreation of a typical Gorgeous George performance. Jackson Hunter was hired to recreate his role as Gorgeous George's valet as he did at real professional wrestling events.

In the first wrestling match shown, Gorgeous George's opponent is played by veteran character actor Henry Kulky. Before his acting career, Kulky had been an experienced professional wrestler. The two could do an actual wrestling exhibition as if they were at an real professional wrestling show without the need for stunt doubles. Kulky was even credited under his old wrestling moniker, "Bomber Kulkovich."
