- Daphne: We've got a lot, but we haven't got everything. I want what she's got - all of it. I want her house, her name, her man. And I want them now. Tonight.
- Charles Vernay: You've just killed your husband, Mrs Courtland, and now you're going to kill yourself.
- Alison Courtland: Oh, Dick! Dick? Dick?
- [turns and sees a man watching her]
- Alison Courtland: Ahh! Bruce, Bruce, Bruce, Bruce, he's there! That man, the one with the horn-rimmed glasses.
- Daphne: [sitting on a platform, above Courtland] I gave you the hurry call because I wanted to see you in a hurry.
- Richard W. Courtland: Well, I'm here. Come on down.
- Daphne: Why? It's good up here. You almost feel out of this filthy hole.
- Richard W. Courtland: My coming here to see you isn't very smart.
- Daphne: I've been smart. But I'm sick of sitting in this two-bit rat-trap while she goes to cocktail parties.
- Richard W. Courtland: This doesn't sound like my girl.
- Daphne: Your girl is a lot of girls. This is one of 'em.
