According to Eddie Muller, host of TCM's Noir Alley, the Malibu beach house was also in Tensão (1949) and Sindicato do Crime (1950); it is not the house from Alma em Suplício (1945) or A Morte num Beijo (1955) which are two different houses down the road in Malibu.
The car Barbara brings in for Eddie to fix is a 1949 Hillman Minx Mk 3 convertible.
This movie has a similar story line to the Ernest Hemingway movie Assassinos (1946), starring Burt Lancaster and Ava Gardner, which was remade - Os Assassinos (1964) - with Lee Marvin, John Cassavetes, Angie Dickinson, and Ronald Reagan.
Steve's house on the beach in Malibu still stands in 2021. It is 1,042 square feet and was built in 1951. The property includes the 240 feet of still undeveloped beachfront beside the house where Eddie found Barbara and Steve. It was assessed for tax purposes in 2020 for over $5.3M.
Barbara's apartment building in this film is still standing in 2021, although the front lawn has been paved over and replaced by off-street parking spaces.
