- Inspector Reid: What are they running down there? An immigration control or a game of hunt-the-alien?
- [Steve Rossi can be seen standing outside an apartment. He rings the buzzer next to the door. Inside, a woman can be seen approaching the door and opening it]
- Steve Rossi: Is this Michael Grand's apartment?
- Joan Miller: [somewhat surprised] Yes, I was just leaving.
- [Joan smiles as she looks directly at Steve]
- Joan Miller: Do come in.
- [Steve enters the apartment as Joan closes the door behind her]
- [Steve Rossi can be seen entering a room. He is dressed in a Seaman's outfit. Sitting on two couches are Colonel Wilkes and Joan Miller]
- Steve Rossi: [looks at his uniform and smiles] Well, how do I look?
- Col. Wilkes: Fine. I can almost smell the sea air.
- Steve Rossi: [holds up the sleeve of his uniform and smiles] You mean the mothballs.
- [Steve Rossi can be seen entering the office of Colonel Wilkes, the latter who can be seen looking out of a window. When Rossi enters, the Colonel turns to see him]
- Col. Wilkes: Good afternoon, Mr. Rossi. My name's Wilkes.
- [Wilkes extends his hand out for a handshake, with Rossi returning the gesture]
- Col. Wilkes: Nice of you to come.
- Steve Rossi: Your secretary was kind of insistant.
- Col. Wilkes: [smiles] Yes, she's charming, isn't she? Won't you sit down?
- Steve Rossi: Thanks.
- [Rossi and Wilkes proceed to sit down, with the latter taking the seat at his desk and the former sitting across from him]
- [Steve Rossi and Joan Miller can be seen entering an apartment building]
- Joan Miller: Straight on.
- [the two of them approach a flight of stairs]
- Joan Miller: This way.
- [Steve stops in front of the elevator while Joan begins to head up the stairs]
- Steve Rossi: Well, why not use the elevator?
- Joan Miller: It's out of order.
- [Steve looks at the elevator for a few seconds before he joins Joan and heads up the stairs with her]
- [in her apartment, Joan Miller sees Steve Rossi in the kitchen. He is preparing something edible]
- Joan Miller: How's it going?
- Steve Rossi: Fine. Making eggs, coming up.
- Joan Miller: Good, I'm very hungry.
- [Steve Rossi and Joan Miller can be seen exiting a car outside a museum]
- Steve Rossi: Where are we?
- Joan Miller: Tate Gallery.
- Steve Rossi: Serve good coffee here?
- [at the Tate Gallery, Joan Miller and Steve Rossi and be seen approaching Colonel Wilkes, who is viewing a work of art]
- Joan Miller: Good morning, sir.
- [the Colonel turns to face Joan and Steve]
- Col. Wilkes: Good morning, Joan.
- [the Colonel looks at Rossi]
- Col. Wilkes: Good morning, Mr. Rossi.
- Steve Rossi: Hello.
- [at the Tate Gallery, Colonel Wilkes can be seen speaking with Joan Miller and Steve Rossi]
- Col. Wilkes: You're early.
- Joan Miller: The police came in for coffee, so we left them to have it alone.
- Col. Wilkes: You slept well, Mr. Rossi?
- Steve Rossi: I slept very well.
- Col. Wilkes: Well, I had a rather busy night.
- Steve Rossi: Contacting Graham?
- Col. Wilkes: No, contacting Alliance Aircraft Corporation.
- Steve Rossi: Checking up on me.
- Col. Wilkes: Yes.
- Steve Rossi: Satisfied?
- Col. Wilkes: Quite.
